Patong Paragon Resort & Spa

I make decisions based on reviews and I felt obligated to share my experience. My wife and I stayed the first two of the four nights we planned because I believed the staff really cared about our stay and did the best they could. I must summarize due to the character limitation for a review. We went a night with no elec. no staff in the hotel in the morning to report the problem, and cold water for a shower. When moved to a second room there was no AC, cold water again, and no power to the outlet for the TV (which was the only thing that was resolved after a few hours of repair). We realized that the resort had electrical issues after having the same electrical problems with the second room. The most disappointing part of our ordeal is how we became project managers just to move the multiple processes along. It was a full-time job the entire stay! On multiple occasions we were told repairs had been completed just to find out the issues were still there. Finally, we were told that they were waiting on a part that may come in a few days. In addition to these specific issues, the hotel staff and management did not advise me when I checked in that the pool and fitness room was OUT OF ORDER. I inquired when I booked and was assured all would be completed. Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel was underwhelming. The Wi-Fi was practically unusable, and there was loud nightclub music blaring across the road well into the night, making it difficult to get any rest. Our room was outdated, and we experienced several issues, including no hot water at night, confusing light switches, and air conditioning problems. To make matters worse, customer service was hit and miss. One staff member at reception (a larger woman) was quite rude and unhelpful when we are arrived. No one helped u with your bags up to your room (when asked she told me to find a lift) However, credit where it’s due — another receptionist was kind and professional, allowing us to store our luggage and check out late due to our evening flight. While the hotel claims to be near the beach, the view is completely obstructed by a beach club, shops, poles, and overhead cables — so don’t expect ocean views. Overall, it wasn’t a relaxing stay. The noise, outdated facilities, and lacklustre service made it hard to enjoy the location. I wouldn’t return.

Very nice

The staff at this hotel were wonderful. The travel desk staff also very helpful and provided reasonable prices for excursions and great advice about potential weather conditions on the islands etc. We really enjoyed our stay here. There is a 7/11 across the street, a massage place just down the road, a restaurant across the road, and a laundry lady next door who did a wonderful job of washing and folding our laundry for 50 baht/ kilo and returning it to hotel reception 24hrs later. Unfortunately there were some guests that didn’t know how to use their manners at the breakfast buffet but cannot fault the staff at all. They were wonderful and always willing to assist. It is located on the outskirts of Patong but that’s what we wanted. Get the bolt/ grab app and easy taxi/ tuk tuk to get you into the heart of the action when that’s what you want. The pool area is lovely and swim up bar served great cocktails! We really enjoyed our stay here. Thank you for having us! If we return to Phuket, we’ll definitely come back!

Great hotel with friendly and helpful staff, great location, with plenty of amenities near by.

Amazingplace to stay close enough to everthing but quiet and a very short walk to beach. Excellent breakfast and the swim up room was perfect!

We enjoyed our stay here. The location was good, near the beach, shops and some nice restaurants but not as crazy as further south in Patong. The main road next to us was a little difficult to cross with our 2 year old, you basically just have to walk out in front of cars and they have to slow down to let you cross. The hotel was pretty good value with a nice pool and buffet breakfast included. The pool was very quiet despite what seemed like a lot of guests staying. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Cleanliness could be better, floors were not vacuumed/mopped. AC kept leaking, door lock wasnt locking properly hence the doors couldnt be closed easily from the outside. Staff don't speak English too well, hence any concerns we had weren't addressed. We mentioned that one of the guests we travelled with was celebrating their 30th birthday and it was a surprise trip for them, however, unfortunately the hotel did not put in the effort to organise any sort of nice surprise in the hotel room.

I was kindly placed in room 323.I booked a pool side room which was not given. My wife was just happy to be at the Patong Paragon so room 323 was nice. The staff were fantastic and beautiful however some of the guests were rude and inconsiderate to staff which was distressing. I wish all the staff at the Paragon the best.

Location. 1 minute walk to thebeach. A lot of shop and reatuarants in less than a minute walk.

The hotel was in a very good spot. Walkable to the beach and restaurants. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The only disappointment was the cleanliness of the hotel and the furniture was old and needs replacement.

We were very excited to spend 5 nights here based on the reviews I had read. The hotel is indeed very nice and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Attention to detail by management is sorely lacking however. I hate petty negative reviews but need to note: 1 Our flight to Phuket was delayed by several hours. I called the hotel twice from our departure airport to give them revised arrival time. I was assured our hotel arranged transport would be waiting for us. It wasn't and another phone call to them from Phuket airport got us a ride - 30 minutes later. Should have simply taken a cab. 2. When we arrived at 8:30 pm to check in we were advised that the 2 rooms we booked with king sized beds in each were ready?. I had confirmed directly and in writing that each room was to have twin beds. Four 65 year old men - good friends but not couples who did not want to sleep with each other. Front desk requested no change that night and that rooms would be reconfigured the next day? We refused so again we had to wait - this time for an hour for same. 3. We left for golf each morning at 830 and returned around 4. The first 4 days neither room was made up on our return - despite daily reminders at front desk to do so. Again - get out of room and wait while maids turned them over. I actually met with "hotel consultant" Wanida Khamsathien who listened, said she was sorry, and offered a free round of drinks by the pool. I think she should have done more. Nice place but management lacking.

This resort is the worse one we’ve ever stayed at from check in to check out, they gave us the wrong room twice the staff are rude and not friendly,they don’t speak good English ,we had to keep asking for soap, toilet paper and towels for our room,the pool bar was closed on several occasions leaving no where to get a drink or food, the pool area does not have enough seating ,overall this is a terrible place to stay

The area was really cool, close to the beach and just the right of the beach club is a local bar area on the rocks that has Stunning view of the sun set. I had a pool access room that was super cool and stunning but the down fall was the bed was very hard, I also asked for a double bed on booking and it was made as two singles so ask to get it made as one they didn’t even get me get me a bigger blanket just used the two singles also didn’t have a flat sheet just a blanket that I thought was odd as most places have fitted, flat and blanket.

This was my second stay at the Paragon Resort & Spa. It is like its own little oasis when in the pool. To stay current the hotel will need to complete some renovations as the building is starting to look old. Things like mattress and pillow comfort could be improved and towels with ripped edges. These little things will help elevate the hotel. Having a drink offer to keep people at the hotel bar/swim bar longer would be a good idea. Making a big investment in setting up an 5 star spa could help bolster the property. The staff are very friendly and I’d highly recommend the hotel to others looking for a reliable place to stay just outside the hustle and bustle of Patong.

Breakfast was awesome

It was nice that the free breakfast was a little different every day. Multigrain bread is very delicious. A chef cooks for over 200 people by himself. There aren't many shops nearby, but if you're going to the beach, it's not too noisy, so it's recommended. The room and bathroom were very spacious and comfortable, but there weren't many electrical outlets and it felt a little bit dated.But it’s very clean, recommended for people who don't require many amenities.
