Very nice stay

Wonderful

Front desk extremely helpful

The heating system or room thermostat were awful...it never got below 77 degrees (was 80 degrees when we got in the room and "cool" setting with high fan did very little change it). Had to sleep with the window open in December and then listen to garbage trucks outside at 4 am. And the shower water never got above lukewarm. I figured that since Marriott took over this property it would be in better shape. I was wrong.

When checking in we were not told that the facility did not have working A/C. The morning after arriving, there was no hot water for taking showers and getting ready. They had it fixed after the second night there.

Really nice room and great shower

There were a lot of mixed reviews for this property when I was looking for a place to stay in Helena. I decided to give it a try. Glad I did. Had everything thing I needed and was reasonably priced. It smelled good in the lobby when I checked in, literally, they had just baked cookies for the guests. Thoughtful.

Light was flickering when entered room. Carpet needed vacuuming. Remote had yuck on it. Expected more for the money.

Service was great. I was greeted by Dwight who was very helpful and welcoming. The place was clean and everything worked properly. Would stay again when in the area.

This was a comfortable quiet hotel. The staff was very nice. It suited all of our needs. We missed the breakfast buffet but the staff was accommodating and we were able to get toast, waffles and coffee . The hot tub jets were not working but everything else was great.

Top-notch, friendly staff. Very accommodating. The hotel is super clean and nicely decorated. Great gym and delicious breakfast.

The hotel was comfortable and clean. The shower just would not get to a decent temperature, though. I told the front desk, and he said I wasn’t the only one to complain about it that morning. Other than a relatively chilly shower, the stay was very comfortable for my child and I.

The air conditioning didn’t work

The first room they put me in was so nasty smelling I immediately went back to the front desk to see if a room change was possible. The front desk person came up with me to check it out and agreed it was headache-inducing. The second room was two floors away and only slightly better. I don’t know if it was a combination of stinky cleaning products and bad ventilation (chlorine from the pool) or mustiness or all three but it was not solved with a can of febreze. Breakfast was on paper plates with plastic forks and knives and the carpets in the rooms were so nasty I didn’t want to take my shoes off. Definitely not the experience I would have expected given the price.

The positives: The lady that checked us in was very kind and friendly. The hotel was conveniently located in a safe area of town. Breakfast was good with lots of options. The rooms were a good size with comfortable beds. I liked that the pool was no deeper than 5 feet. Shellie’s is a really good restaurant and right across the parking lot, and it’s open 24 hours. The negatives: the hot tub was quite dirty and the jets didn’t work, which was very disappointing. The pool area had a very strong chemical smell and was not well attended (we had to go looking for towels as there were no clean ones and the bathroom had no toilet paper for two days in a row). Our room was missed for housekeeping. There was a partial wall behind the door to our room. When we entered, we swung the door wide to make room for the luggage cart and it bounced off the hidden wall, hitting me in the elbow and splitting it open. In summary, the people were lovely, but I think they might be short-staffed for their cleaning staff.
