I love this place

Very easy process checking in, friendly professional staff and a beautiful clean room/hotel!

Excellent facility and views, the spa area was modest but exactly what we needed. Only wish we stayed longer.

So comfortable, great amenities, close to everything.

I loved everything about this beautiful place! The staff was so friendly and the amenities were incredible!

We loved our stay at this hotel. Here are the pros and cons: -We got the partial ocean view with a balcony. It was fabulous. At certain angles in the room, it looked like an ocean view, depending on where you are standing. -There was a pair of binoculars in the room which was great for watching the otters. -Our son also got a little Monterey area bingo game to play for prizes along with his own little bag of goodies which included his own pair of binoculars and magnifying glass. -We ate at Schooners restaurant and the view was great and we were seated right away. -The hot tubs near the fitness center have such a beautiful view and there is also a nearby firepit -The valet staff was very helpful and professional The things that were not so great were: -There is an area that is open to the public below the room and we were often smelling the smell of smoke from cigarettes and weed. -There was also a black hair still in our bathtub when we checked in which was gross. - We ate at Schooners restaurant but the server was not friendly or helpful and the clam chowder was so bad that none of us finished it. It was also a little bit pricey. -The spa staff kept giving us different ages for the age restriction for using the hot tub near the fitness center. -It cost us almost 100 dollars extra to do valet for 2 nights. We were told that the alternative was to do metered street parking and then it was free at night. So we just did it. But, overall, it was good.

A nice and clean place for a few days getaway

Hotel was clean and very accommodating. Staff was very nice and helpful. The new valet service was very user friendly. You are able to call for your car inside your room and the car can be there by the time you get to the lobby.

My sister and I stay at The Plaza every Christmas, we love it! The rooms are clean roomy and the beds are amazing, so comfortable. We love the beautiful Christmas decorations and of course the awesome views! We will be there next year.

I can’t really say enough good about our stay here. It was the second leg of our honeymoon tour of California, and I can honestly say it’s one of the nicest hotel stays I have ever experienced. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, not the setting more beautiful.

Great Ocean view

Fantastic property!!

Splurge and get a balcony- we had partial view but it was still amazing. Did not seem “ partial” to me. Saw all the fun birds and otters. Great on site restaurants. Walking distance to everything in town. Beautiful sunrise with unique position. Clean and amazing sheets and pillows - we would return here for sure. Staff super helpful with assistance with a medical issue that came up. Very happy with this hotel. Wish we had stayed longer. Good drive to Big Sur!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room had a lovely partial ocean view. Food at Schooners was good/service great. We were allowed to go to our room an hour before check-in time with no extra charge. Great location to easily walk to main attractions on Cannery Row.

Great hotel and central to everything.

Unfortunate strong fish smell that weekend, but everything else was great

I had an exceptional stay at the Monterey Plaza Hotel! My room featured a pleasant city and partial sea view. The true highlight was the rooftop gym and spa, where the facilities were top-notch, and the outdoor jacuzzi offered a stunning view of the bay—absolute bliss. Dining at the hotel's restaurants, including Schooners Coastal Kitchen and Bar, was a culinary delight with superb service to match. Each meal was expertly prepared, and the ambiance was perfect for a relaxing evening. The lobby happy hour with its live band created a lively and inviting atmosphere. Although the valet parking was somewhat expensive, it was a minor detail compared to the overall exemplary experience. This hotel is definitely worth a five-star rating for its luxury, service, and facilities!

Great location right downtown. Hotel was beautiful, clean and had incredible views right on the water.
