The staff were very friendly and helpful. For a budget hotel, it was functional and value for money. Very convenient if you are visiting family or for business (just off the M4).

The hotel was very basic- which was to be expected- but on arrival (21:00) there were a robust group of men drinking tin beers in the lobby area- it smelt of body odour and stale alcohol. Whilst the receptionist was pleasant and allowed us to have our two caching with us for free (instead of charging us £5 per dog). The room was ‘fine’- no frills but that’s okay- we only needed it to rest after our journey. The trouble started when the fire alarm went off at 23:00-ish. We hurtled out of bed , dogs barking- but it went off. We settled back to sleep thinking it must have been a one off and it can just happen- but it kept happening throughout the night- disrupting and ruining our Christmas Eve. I eventually couldn’t take it any longer and went down to the reception who was already arguing with other guests saying it was an electrical fault- but we could see and smell smoke coming from the breakfast oven in the lobby- clearly the drunken guests and reception staff who had been with them had burnt something and were being irresponsible. It didn’t happen again after 01:00am and I asked for a full refund in the morning when we checked out at 8:30am- god awful experience. Avoid at all costs.

My Breakfast was not taken at Ibis Budget. But it is usually good continental. The warm was really warm and my wet clothes dried easily.The bed was comfortable . The wifi good speed and the TV had BBC 1.

On arrival our room had a broken flush on the toilet, excrement on the toilet seat and hairs on the bed. It was 10pm when we arrived. My son was tired and upset. We were moved to another room, thankfully not unpacked. The toilet in this room stank of drains, and then floor under the beds had dirt and crumbs on it. No hand towel, just bath towel. Breakfast was tasty, and beds were comfy,,although my son’s mattress protector had a stain on it, so he removed it. Won’t be staying again.

I understand that the hotel is right next to the M4 motorway but the road noise was pretty intrusive. I could also hear the lift ping when it arrived on my floor (my room was next to the lift). I tried using ear plugs that I often take away in trips but I could still hear the road noise.

Room was a little tired with broken parts in the room, the staff were friendly the night of check in - no parking spaces available.

This is very much a budget hotel: you can tell because there are no carpets or mats next to the beds to brush your feet off when you climb in bed, you get one towel each (no hand-towel), there is a little plastic stool in front of the small desk but no chairs and no luggage rack for your bag. The shower has gel but no creams, there is a heater but no air-con, the usb ports do not work, you get a single pillow each. On the plus side the beds are clean and there are fancy down-lighters. But our biggest beef was the hot water which failed totally by the morning: no showering. At least we were offered free b/fast as compensation (not English, continental only but not bad). And the staff were friendly and trying their best. Well, it is called a budget hotel....

Didnt appreciate how basic the hotel was. Was expecting similar to premier inn or travel lodge

This is a budget hotel next to a motorway. I stay here for work as it is good value for money, has free parking and decent WiFi.

We didn't have the breakfast but we can’t skip it in this review. Nice hotel tucked away between the fire station and houses, and very close to the motorway for access. No noise from the traffic

Spotlessly clean. You’d want to be a dwarf to sit on toilet. It’s a wall mounted toilet which is way too low. Mattress on bed was comfortable Except!!!!! There’s like a rubber sheet or something on it which makes you sweat like mad. BUDGET it definitely is but sorry not for older people. Staff were lovely they did offer to change rooms for us but I was already in the bed.

Great reception on arrival very polite staff. Room had drain odour but it disappeared after opening windows and one towel wasn’t so clean. The shower needs to be looked at as draining poorly

Really excellent budget hotel The room was clean, comfortable and very well designed. Only two very mild criticism. You had to put the card in "head first" to open the door but a member of staff appeared as if by magic to let me in. Secondly I brought my own kettle because you said you didn't provide one but I'm fact a kettle was there
