My father and I just had a recent stay at Hotel Borg for three nights. We were very upset with the service from the housekeeping staffs looking after our room. When we first arrived to our room, we found out that our welcome fruit basket was empty. That was not what we expected to see at a (5-star?) luxury hotel (as stated on the hotel’s own website). We called and asked about that and the staff came to our room with some fruits in the plastic bags and handed that to us. On the next day after returning from a day tour, we found out that the bottled water were not replenished as it supposed to be. Empty bottles from yesterday were left there just like before we leave. We didn’t bother to call for some new bottles and wanted to see if they were going to replenish for the next day and they didn’t. Even though this may sounds like a very tiny issue, I also think that these little points like welcome fruit basket and water bottles are also the easiest tasks that any hotel could have provide properly to their guests to ensure a pleasant stay.

Excellent location. Walking distance to almost anywhere in the downtown area. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room size could be little bigger. Excellent shower in the bathroom. Finding a street parking could be challenging as it’s in a very busy area.

Convenient location. Parking is tricky in the area though. Staff was helpful regarding the parking but not especially warm. The shower had issues getting water all over the floor so ended up using the handheld shower instead.

Bathrooms need to be updated. Flimsy shower curtains and sinks that don’t drain well is not a good look. More is expected from a 4 star hotel

Excellent location, situated in the real heart of Reykjavík, beautiful old building. Wonderful staff ensured a very pleasant and comfortable stay; the reception staff are particularly helpful.

Tråkigt att man inte satsat alls på middagsrestaurangen och baren som annars skulle kunnat varit mycket trevlig. Grannhotellet Apoteket fick man istället gå till.

The hotel is ideally located on a quiet square one block behind the main road. In a matter of two minutes, you were in the middle of the action. The bed was comfy and staff was lovely and helpful.

The room was large with the most incredible shower. The staff were friendy and helpful. Great location. Lovely hotel.

Hotel Borg is a classic hotel, loved the art deco vibe. The sauna facilities are awesome we used multiple times. I personally found the mattress in our room the most comfortable of any I can remmeber. And you can't beat the downtown location. We're sad to leave but will be back

Tres bel emplacement en plein centre a cote du parlement. L'acceuil est fluctuant selon les personnes de la reception plus ou moins souriante et bienveillante. Les chambres sont spacieuses et agreable avec une belle salle de bain. Les couettes sont petites comme sur toute l'ile. Le vrai reproche va au petit dejeuner. Sur les 3 pris et malgre les remarques des le premier jour, aucun n'a ete a la hauteur du standing pretendu de l'hotel. Pas de machine a cache mais du jus de chaussette, du lait et de l'eau chaude, si vous voulez autre chose, il faudra paye. De meme le choix est limite meme quand les viennoiseries sont disponibles, mais depechez vous. POur le prix de l'hotel, je suis tres decu des prestations sans oublier l acces a la salle de sport qui est egalement avec supplement.

Overall this was advertised as a ‘luxury’ property and priced as such. It is not. The hotel does not have a bar, a proper restaurant and the breakfast buffet was the poorest stocked we have seen in Iceland (including several outside Reyjavik). The spa area was unappealing. The room was overheated due to a overheated bathroom floor; with no temperature control gauge. The overall feel is that of a formerly grand hotel overtaken by time with a badly used furniture feel. I will never recommend it.

Good room, nice staff, good location, I would go back to this place next time I'm in Reykjavik.

Bel hôtel art Déco, très bien placé. Malgré un état général intérieur impeccable, beaucoup de choses sont à signaler. -Tout d'abord, chambres proposées à 50€, si elles sont dispos avant l'heure normale du check in - Pas de bar, ou plutôt bar fermé - dans les chambres, baignoire et lavabo bouchés, tapis de bain déchiré, pas de bouteilles d'eau, malgré un frigidaire branché et vide ! - petit déjeuner quelconque et expresso et cappuccino payant.. En conclusion, à 500€ la chambre nous n'y retournerons pas !

This is a great hotel. The staff was courteous and professional - very helpful in every way. Lots of great places to eat within walking distance - like one block away. Highly recommended hotel.

Parking was horrible. No on site parking. Have to walk to park under city hall and pay. Can’t hardly park out front to load or unload. Only a few spots on a narrow one way road. The room was hot and uncomfortably heated. No control (thermostat wouldn’t work) except to open the door to the balcony which took a phone call at 2 in the morning to figure out how to open the door. Then had trash trucks making noises right out side that open door. Shower has no curtain so water splashes out onto bath floor - slippery mess. Breakfast was expensive but good. Don’t get value for what you pay.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, right in the city center, making everything easily accessible. The building is elegant and beautifully restored, with a lot of character and charm. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the hotel was very clean throughout. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely stay here again.

Great place in perfect downtown location. Highly recommended.
