We stayed here over the weekend, and I honestly couldn’t have been more disappointed. From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff were inattentive and unfriendly. We reserved two rooms with 2 beds per room 4 months ago to have arrived and told that they no longer had enough rooms with 2 beds so had to bring us a spare mattress to use as a secondary bed . I was also blind sided with an additional beach cleaning tax once we started the check in. The hotel it self needs to be remodeled brought up to modern times also the floor near the pools was very slippery definitely should upgrade that area. The only saving grace was the breakfast, which was decent. I would not stay here again, and I wouldn’t recommend it to others.

The place is nice, clean but maybe need some updates. The elevators runs slow and weird. If u call for elevator from main floor to go up, somehow it takes you all the way down first before moving up. The staff are cool, only took 1 star out coz we checked in early which is not their fault but we kept being given false hope on early check in. Also, they need to update the restaurants. Marcopolo seem kind of pretentious coz there’s an expected dress code and restaurant’s vibe is like a steak house but staff either didn’t memorize the menu before opening or there’s just a language barrier. Also same restaurant, some menu description doesn’t match at all with the dish.

We stayed here last week and we had the time of our lives! Before I booked this resort I did go thru the reviews and it mentioned that food is quite repetitive and that amenities are that great but I would say the opposite, I believe that for the price that we paid this resort exceeded our expectations, I wouldn’t say the same for their restaurants but the food at the buffet is great! They changed their food every single time and some may became repetitive but that’s only for breakfast and sometimes lunch, I love how they always have themes during dinner, I also love the pool and the food they serve during the afternoon the staff are all great too! The hotel is very nice you can notice that it’s an old hotel but they made efforts in making it look like it’s up to date. Overall I would come back to this hotel.

The evening shows have the same group of dancers every evening. It is a family resort and multiple nights they had two guys, almost naked, dancing & rubbing each other like they were a couple in love. It was very offensive to young children and to straight couples. (One night it was a rock show, it was nice) A lot of the guests could not find one available lounge pool chair bc some of the family group put one towel in two chairs and take 10 chairs while only four members are seating each time together. Our room mattresses were so uncomfortable & hard. We upgraded our room but the mattress was still the same. Buffett meals never served any kind of steaks, not even the skinny ones. It was only served at the restaurants, which you must reserve and pay additional prices for the better food. The staff were nice. However I ordered some liquor cream to add in my coffee and the waiter recused to go get some from any the bars. The saddest part is that the bars only open at 11:00 am. Front reception has ready nice drinks for arriving guests, when we asked to try one, they said no. It is only for arriving guests. However when we arrived they did not serve us any drinks because our flight was delayed. Nobody waited for us. We were VIP guests. The hotel looks clean, bc they are constantly painting over mold and metal bathroom rusts. (I guess it works). The location is beautiful. The food and mattresses are the worst part plus the two male dancers.

Dear Team, I am writing to escalate concerns from my recent stay at GR Solaris Cancun Resort, which fell significantly below expectations. 1. Room Allocation & Handling (Primary Concern) Despite booking a king bed, we were given two small double beds. No resolution was provided. We were asked to check out at 11 AM and wait until 3 PM for a new room—forcing us to wait 4 hours with valuables, which is unacceptable. 2. Misleading Lagoon View The lagoon view room had a completely blocked view. Expedia images appear misleading. 3. Food Issues Very limited vegetarian options; customization took excessively long. 4. Slow Service Service across the resort was consistently slow. 5. No Drinks at Closing No beverages were served near closing time. 6. Missing Basic Amenities No dental kit available; we were asked to purchase one. 7. Room Key Issues Key malfunctioned repeatedly despite multiple fixes. 8. Shuttle Mismanagement Asked to be ready at 2 PM; shuttle arrived at 2:20 PM. The travel agent was unhelpful and rude. This delay risked missing our flight. Overall, this experience was frustrating and not aligned with expected standards. I request a prompt response with corrective actions and appropriate compensation.

An average hotel. Some show of age of the property, but generally clean and friendly staff. Lots of kids and nice pool area. Also the pool side pizza bar was excellent.

Venue was concise and clean! Staff were EXCE LLENT and any issues were resolved very quickly!! Rooms were large and cleaning staff were excellent! Food in buffet was better than the mains in the three restaurants. Great for families with kids but lacking adults only festivities! Night life was generally OK but lacked disco like dancing events for adults. 4.5 stars rounded up to excellent!!

The resort is well maintained. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The pool area is very nice with three pools and two are primarily for adults. It was disappointing that with a five night stay we were only allowed to book reservations at the restaurants twice. That means we had to eat at the buffet for the majority of our dinners. They also did not have any late night food available. Which means after dinner you can't get any food until morning. It would be nice after having a few evening drinks to have something to eat. Also the food is just mediocre. They promote the phone app but it's useless. The information is out of date and not accurate. They should also have descriptions of the shows. We went to the Sensation show and found it to be inappropriate for small children. There was confusion between the staff. I exchanged my pool towels one day and was given the same stripped towels. The next day when I went to exchange them they told me the stripped towels were for members only. I was concerned because I didn't want to be charged for the towels. Also, when checking out I told the girl I left the pool towels in the room she was okay with it. About 15 minutes later our friends checked out and were told they had to return the towels to the front desk. I went back up and a different girl told me I had to return the towels and made me go get them. I almost missed my shuttle due to this. I enjoyed our stay and would probably stay again if I went to Cancun.

The resort is large, and the rooms are spacious. I loved knowing that, as a VIP Silver member through Expedia, I received several benefits. However, the resort is not very clean. The pool was dirty, and outside by the beach, you can’t really swim because of all the seaweed, which is only cleaned once a week. The restaurants are always full, and it was impossible to make a reservation. There was really no nighttime show; I expected a bit more. The buffet food, however, is excellent and offers a great variety.

This is a pretty small hotel, which was actually nice is many ways. However, there are not a whole lot of activities for children to do. And it’s a very relaxed vibe. Food options were very limited. We ate at the Mexican restaurant one night and it was honestly terrible, the food had no flavor which was very disappointing. The other nights we just ate at the buffet. Two people from my party got food poisoning. I got food poisoning the second day we were there which pretty much put a damper on my whole trip. The staff at this hotel is so friendly. Every single staff member I interacted with was very helpful and very very friendly. They are the best part of this hotel.
