WiFi absolutely awful. Rooms are dilapidated, even the refurbished ones, stains on curtains, handle feel off the bathroom door. The hotel has an eerie feel. It was pretty scary getting in the loft that had seen better days. The rooms were unbearably hot and no air conditioning, wasn’t worth the money and we bookies for the character, but it’s a run down hotel that needs fully closing and refurbishing.

Room was comfortable, and so was the bed. Bedroom doors are designed to self-close with a thud, so you are disturbed while trying to go to sleep and again early in the morning. Breakfast sufficient but unremarkable. Quite wide variety of tea, but only Earl Grey (which I don't like) and decaff among "real" teas, all the others being peppermint, green, lemongrass, various flowers, etc.

The room was hotter than a sauna, impossible to sleep. It had obviously been very hot for a long period heat emanated from everything even the bed and pillows. Didn't sleep at all and ended up sleeping in the car.

Lack of air conditioning. Room was small for a 4 star hotel.

A one-night stay, as had been my previous trips. Lovey hotel , not far from city centre. No complaints.

Even though there was a heatwave,not enough effort was made to cool the the room,it was a sauna, Not enough pressure in the shower meant the water just dribbled down the wall. Was reported,nothing done

Everything was great, a bit short staffed at breakfast so not much clearing up done and the radiators were on so it was boiling in the breakfast room. Bathrooms have shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, although the conditioner was empty so take your own just in case.

Was a nice family suite, very clean, lots of space which was great as our child is a teenager so perfect. Shame the smaller room didn’t have a double bed rather than a double sofabed but that’s me being picky. The bathroom was nice & clean. Did have an issue with the cold tap becoming cold (took ages) & the hot water became very hot very quickly. I didn’t use the restaurant or bar so can’t comment.

Whatley Hall is a beautiful hotel, our room had been recently refurbished and was excellent, large bedroom with a large sitting room. The shower was really good and in general was extremely clean, however there was a clump of hair that had kindly been left by a previous guest on the wall in the shower, we reported it to reception but nothing was done about it! Bit disappointed! Breakfast was good, everything that you needed all freshly cooked, would have liked a bit more fresh fruit. The staff were okay.

It was very hot when we stayed and had to keep the windows open. The street was noisy, the church bells rang every hour. The refuse truck woke us up early. The room door was dirty from dirty hands. Our tv did not work. Overall it is a very nice hotel that needs a few touch ups. The staff helped us with a fan but is was still very hot. Breakfast buffet was good.

Everything is good ,especially the garden and free park,even though It’s hot the last 2 days,and no air-conditioner offered.

A beautiful hotel with well‑trained staff, but I don’t understand how guests are expected to stay there without air conditioning on hot days like 23–24 June. I have stayed a couple of times and I genuinely like the hotel and the staff, but I believe the hotel should not operate during very hot days if adequate cooling is not provided.

Beautiful building, lovely staff, nice showers, and decent breakfast with gorgeous outdoor seating in a beautiful green courtyard. Drawback: No AC at this hotel & no window screens means you can't keep the windows open at night.

Beautiful character property in a great location. Room spotless, bed incredibly comfy and a great breakfast buffet.
