We had a first floor room in the annex the other side of the carpark, the weather was good but I wonder how annoying that would be during the rain. A desktop fan was provided which was needed due to the hot weather. The breakfast was good. The bar closed before 11pm on at least one night so I was having to walk to the off licence for a beer. Happy hour had 2 cocktails for the price of one.

Great location and updated rooms in a historic building!

Excellent hotel very close to the centre. Very friendly staff and charming rooms yet very cosy. Breakfast is also really good.

The location of this hotel is good and Canterbury centre is walkable, the staff are generally helpful and friendly. We had an issue with Bed Bugs in one of the rooms which meant a midnight change of rooms. No one was available the next day to discuss the situation and it took an excessive amount of time for them to provide a satisfactory response to the issue.

Loved this hotel - wish we could have stayed longer!! Lovely rooms, fun pub area, delicious breakfast and super friendly staff.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, very good room and breakfast- only one downside, coffee wasnt the best but everything else was excellent and we would stay there again

Lovely hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was small but ok , lovely big bed. Couple of things needed repair, suitcase stand broken, bathroom fan not working, toilet seat needed repairing. Happy hour on evening great. Breakfast very good both continental and cooked.

This Falstaff hotel was a fantastic choice for us to be able to get the most out of our overnight stay so we could enjoy Canterbury. It was a great location after a long journey to get there the hotel was on the doorstep of the train station. Also allowed us to leave our luggage while we did our exploring of Canterbury. Thanks to all the staff. Fantastic breakfast too.

Excellent hotel with convenient parking, delicious breakfast and helpful staff

The only thing that could have been better was the lack of info about RingGo to pay for the parking in advance. Installing the app, coming from abroad, proved far from easy.

Our room had a broken shower door and couldn't be closed. Complaint to reception moved us to another room a bit bigger. This room was badly in need of renovation and the toilet took ages to fill. At 3am in the morning the room phone rang, it woke us up but there was no answer. After going out for the day on our return the room phone was ringing again, again no one there. On replacing the receiver it rang again and wouldn't stop ringing!!. I complained but no one came to fix it and as a result I disconnected the phone. Breakfast was good but beer selection at the bar was quite poor, lots of cocktails in a happy hour 2 for 1 but expensive and used poor quality spirits. Overall we won't return to this hotel.

Exceptional overall

The room was clean and reasonably decorated. The staff were welcoming and polite. The breakfast was good. There is no evening restaurant but this is not a problem as there are a large number of restaurants a short walk away. The hotel is well situated for all the towns attractions but benefits for being just off the High Street (which can be very busy). Would definitely recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to use again.

There was no AC in the room and it was very hot. We paid for a family suite and our children shared a fold out sofa bed which was very uncomfortable. Also we were surprised there was no fridge in the room for cold water. The breakfast was very good though and the staff were friendly and helpful

Room unbearably hot and moved twice to no better. Absolutely horrendous uncomfortable night's sleep. I know this is an old building where air conditioning cannot be installed but no excuse for portable air conditioning units not being available when absolutely needed, especially for the extortionate price. I know bad timing with World Cup but absolutely no mention of hotel being next to noisy pub where annex rooms are next to and above beer garden. Absolutely hated our night at The Falstaff Hotel prior to getting the Le Shuttle train to Calais.

Nice hotel and friendly staff. Unfortunately, it lacked air conditioning and it was very hot while we stayed.

Fantastic place to stay. Rooms are lovely, beds amazingly comfortable and huge! Staff were fantastic, Alexandra and Jack were incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast Benedict was delicious and the hotel and dining room very tasteful. Even the music played was good. I cannot fault this place and will most definitely recommend it to anyone going to Canterbury. Really, really excellent.

A lovely two night stay at this great hotel so near to everything the only negative and this was my fault I asked for a high floor in this horrific heat which is what I got the only problem it was second floor do in the eaves of the building and it was extremely hot. That was the only negative but again that was my fault! Breakfast was good buffet style and then we ordered hot food from the menu. Staff were very helpful would definitely recommend if visiting Canterbury

God morgenmad og fint værelse. Lidt udfordringer med kommunikation med personalet. Vi brugte meget lang tid på at finde ud af, hvordan man kunne betale for hotellets parkering med en international telefon (app og telefonnummer virker ikke, brug hjemmesiden), før vi til sidst fik den rigtige hjælp. Vi fik også forkert/uklar besked om deres happy hour, hvilket gjorde, at vi endte med at betale fuld pris på trods af, at vi var 10 minutter uden for tidsrummet og helt tydeligt havde misforstået receptionen/bartenderen. Det var små ting, men nok til at helhedsoplevelsen af hotellets service ikke var rigtig god.
