We arrived the station in the late afternoon and asked the staff at the post office to contact the ryokan to pick us up. At the ryokan, we again was surprised by a TV crew who apparently shot the place and guests for their programme. The host is nice and warm. She communicates very well in English. We were then introduced to the facilities and our room. It is well equipped and at comfortable size. With warm green tea and big windows facing the mountain view, we gradually felt at home and relaxed for a long while. There is also a toilet inside our room.
The onsen facilities comprise of two outdoor hotsprings and two indoor hotsprings, all of which can be used privately. The outdoor ones are beautiful with elegant stone layout and little trees. The rest of the ryokan is decorated with miscellaneous retro items all under old but pristine wooden structure of the house.
The food was delicious and more than one can eat. We had glanced inside the kitchen and saw an old couple cooking each dish with care. Breakfast was no less impressive.
We 'd recommend this place to those who are looking for a peaceful place to relax. The little river in the village is calm and refreshing. The entire neighbourhood looks like a enjoyable maze you want to get lost in.
