Nice old hotel in city centre, in an area filled with shops, pubs, and restaurants. Near the Minster and the wall, and other interesting sites. Tricky to find the hotel, because you have to go through a short "tunnel" from the main street to get to the Court. Staff members were friendly. There is no restaurant, and hence no breakfast (as clearly advertised). However, there are plenty of places nearby for breakfast and other meals. The area was a bit noisy, especially in the morning.

This was an amazing location, great place. Clean and staff were amazing. Would definitely visit again.

The room was nice and clean. Perfect location, right in the heart of York. Everything was within easy walking. I do have mobility issues and i found it easy.

I come here to stay while I attend a film festival and it’s so convenient for the cinema. I have returned three years running. It’s a great hotel and the staff are genuinely lovely.

Great little hotel in the heart of York. Very close to the shops and only 5 minutes from the theatre. Staff very friendly. There is no lift and the stairs are fairly steep maybe a problem for those with mobility problems but it has bags of character and charm

Love the hotel and the location inside the walled city of York.. We were in room number eight, which gets lovely afternoon sun.

As a small, tucked away hotel in the midst of the city, Judges Hotel fit what we wanted n visiting York. History was literally written on the walls. It is tiny and the stairwell is somewhat difficult to navigate wit our travel bags, but the experience was worth it. Situated just blocks from everything, we enjoyed our stay.

Great little hotel situated in the center of things. Small room #5 but very clean and tidy. Great shower, quiet, fantastic staff. Recommend if you want to be in city centre. Taxi from railroad station is best with easy walk if Coney St. closed after 1030am.

Room was a claustrophobic basement room. Window into a deep inescapable window well. WiFi was unuseable

We had a great stay at Judges court. The location is very central, the bed was comfy and it was a powerful shower. The paintwork was a little tired but otherwise a great place to stay.

A clean room with a comfortable bed, extra pillows in closet, ample space, friendly/ helpful reception and reliable wifi. My only critique is the room could use a fresh coat of paint.

Well appointed easily accessible room with everything we wanted. And they held our luggage until check in time

Booked a 1 night stay over in York on our way to Pendle, we had room 3 on the lower level. Getting a large suitcase down the 2 flights of stairs is a bit of a challenge but the room itself was well equipped, clean, lovely powerful shower, comfy bed and coffee making facilities. Perfect for what we wanted Check in was available when we turned up early which was a nice surprise. Very quiet with it being tucked away between shops.

When we first arrived, I thought "oh, no". Lobby is dark, entire place is tucked away, no A/C, and no lift. We had to haul our luggage up 37 steps of a NARROW, spiral staircase. Our room was clean and adequate, and actually had the biggest, nicest, newest shower of anyplace we've stayed so far. (4th hotel of this trip) There was a fan in the room, and they brought a second one upon our request. I'll have to admit, that even in August, with the window open and the fans, we were COMPLETELY comfortable and slept well. The location, right in the city center is very convenient. So, despite my initial skepticism, this hotel was completely satisfactory and a good value.
