Staff were cold but efficient. Bed ok not great. Hot water good but no plug in sink and shower did not drain. £6 for parking... back parking good front trouble.

Basic budget hotel that does a job. The town does lack quality options for accommodation - shame as great place to visit for food and walks

Overall the hotel stay was comfortable enough. The bedding was clean but the pillows were hard and uncomfortable. There's a lot that could be done to improve the general cleanliness of the rooms. The little bin in the bathroom tucks down behind the toilet quite snuggly and is clearly never taken out for a wipe as it was covered in dust and greasy marks. The tap had build up of dark hand marks on parts of the surface that could be removed easily if attention was paid to cleaning. Dust build up on skirting boards and thick dust on upper window edge. Window catch wouldn't shut properly. TV remote wouldn't work and TV itself has no control buttons on the set so couldn't use it. Car parking was convenient, breakfast was nice and there was a choice of continental or English. Staff are friendly and helpful. I'd stay again if I could get into the other well known chain down the road. Not the worst I've stayed in but a lot to do to make it the best.

The staff have been so helpful and friendly in making my check in so easy and smooth. Everything in my room that is needed to make my stay so lovely. Clean and perfect. Thankyou.

Parking has at a charge and has a blue cone to reserve space. Which works if someone had not collected them in to a pile. Wall and ceiling crack and peeling. Windows let in a draft too.

The hot water smelled funny, meaning I didn't use the shower as I was put off it. There was a constant humming noice coming from some kind of fan which kept me up.

I just wanted somewhere simple fand not expensive for a one-night stay and this fit the bill. I had a very good night's sleep

The staff were very friendly and so helpful in making the booking in so easy. Nothing was to much trouble for them at any time. Excellent service. Everything in the room needed was already there to make my stay so lovely.

The hotel was in a lovely location..close to the beach and walkable into town.. nice and clean hotel and friendly staff.

What can I say….. is there a minus stars option as opposed to 1 star? Starts with sending a message about parking 2 days before which never got answered. But a message received asking when I’d be there. Probably should be my first red flag. Got there nowhere to park as it’s limited parking. Parked at seafront which is free until 9am. Got to the room oh my god bedding ripped and I’ve seen cleaner teenagers rooms shoddily cleaned rooms in disrepair and plug socket siliconed to the wall. Hairdryer doesn’t work. But the state of the bathroom oh my god disgusting. Spent the worst night in an uncomfortable bed. Got up yo complain to man who was more interested in excusing everything because it was an old building like that meant the cleaner could clean the detritus in the shower. Wouldn’t give my money back or refund anything. Told that I’d have to wait until 11 to get parkedIF someone was going. If I want a refund to contact broker. Next day got woken to fire alarms (which I’m suprised work) 2 rubbish sleeps for my wife’s birthday and countless guests filth enough was enough and left early but hotels.com are just as bad not fighting the case for there customers and take it from hotel not to refund. AVOID AVOID AVOID. And devon council go and send in Health & Safety.

No telephone or water or tissues in the room. Very slippery shower tray. Only a trickle of a shower and very stiff to turn off! Minute window. Would not change room as they are all the same.

A small room with a small shower. Staff wouldn’t help with our case (we are 92 and 83). A nice view from our sea view room. We won’t be back.

Very comfortable. Very helpful staff. A most enjoyable stay.

They advertised that it was free parking but we were told to pay for the parking. They said breakfast was included but we had to pay for the breakfast. Asked for my room to be cleaned they just spread the bed, did not do proper cleaning or emptying the bins. Next time they should advertise what is on the ground. The staff was not very nice at all.

Pleasant hotel and I had a room with lovely sea view. The shower was my only complaint-very small, flimsy and a lot of old mould/dirt.
