COMFIEST BEDS ANYWHERE IN GREECE!! We loved our stay at Defkalion, the owner Toula is a wonderful host who treated everyone like family. She was clearly proud of the hotel which is newly renovated with brand new room facilities (kitchenette, utensils, bathroom/shower, furniture etc). She loved sharing the fresh apricots from the tree in the hotel with us. Delicious! She also hosted a cooking class which was great fun. The highlight however, were the beds - quality mattresses and pillows, crisp bed linen, and just amazing amazing comfort. We have always found beds in Greece rock hard and end up aching all over. But here we didn’t want to get out of bed in the mornings! More comfortable than our bed at home!! The pool was clean, had water jet/jacuzzi functions, but we really missed a pool cafe as an amenity. You could get drinks, but no food/snacks. You could of course use your room facilities, but as there isn’t a shop within close walking distance you have to make sure you stock up and for that you need a car, as carrying bags of groceries from Petra town would be a hard slog. We do feel you need transport for this hotel, we hired a scooter as weren’t planning on travelling too far this holiday. We did walk to Petra on the first day, but we think it’s too far for a relaxed holiday with the heat and slight hill (we are fit 40 year olds). You can however walk to a couple of seafront restaurants (Avlaki & Caravan). We would recommend this hotel. Thanks Toula! x

Hotel not expensive. Very welcoming. Adequate kitchen facilities en suite, including good filter coffee maker. Free wi-fi available. Beaches at both Anaxos and Petra within walking distance, and numerous restaurants. We are both in our seventies, the temperatures were always 30° , and we didn't hire a car, but walked to several other villages - Molyvos, Petri, Lafionas, Vafios, where we could eat before returning to Petra for a swim or a shower. The walking (and cycling) tracks are now well marked - but some of them were admittedly slightly strenuous!

Defkalion, es maravilloso, es la segunda vez que vamos y lo recomendaremos siempre. Toula y Kostas, son muy amables.

Sehr nette Vermieter, gute Lage zwischen dem Ort Petra und dem schönen Strand von Anaxos. Preiswerte Möglichkeiten zum Essen, vor allem bei der Frauenkooperative in Petra.
