Ben Hall Motor Inn

Staff were very accommodating for our late arrival. Room was nice and simple but everything you need for an overnight stay. Comfy bed and the place nice and quiet. Shower was nice and hot in the morning. Thanks and will try and stay again if we are out that way. PS. Forbes has some nice history to see and interesting art around to find.

Great and easy

I can only write about our two night's stay in Room 1. The office was unattended at 2.30 pm, rang the number on the office door and was told the key was in the door. Our room was next to a covered area where the other guests (workers) gathered for a drink and smoke at the end of their day. Also the laundry trolly's were stored permanently outside our door as the store room was next door. The room was tiny with an equally small shower that had a plastic curtain hanging from a very, very rusted curtain railing. There was a used shampoo bottle in the shower over looked by the cleaning staff. We also had to fix the toilet to stop the water that was continuously leaking from the cistern. If we hadn't prepaid for our two night's accommodation we would have left. The best thing to do with room 1 would be to pull out the bed and use it as a storeroom. This was our second stop in a three week drive around holiday and was far and away the worst accommodation we had in that time. Needless to say we would NEVER recommend the Ben Hall Motor inn. Forbes in itself is a lovely town just stay elsewere.

Air con unit from an adjacent room running all night - caused lack of sleep

I didnt stay here. I booked 12 months in advance but because my booking fell during a music festival, the hotel would not honour my booking. I cant rate the hotel.

What I do find amusing is that most motels provide a kettle which is much appreciated but the access to the taps in the hand basin is always too short or too awkward to enable a person to fill the kettle. It’s a little slow filling the kettle by cup by cup. Perhaps a small jug might help😉

We booked a room with two beds and when we turned up we only had one, the place was full and the owner offered no alternatives so i tried sharing with my 16 yo son but he ended up sleeping on the floor.

The bed was comfty but the pillows were terrible, couldn't sleep because of them. They also charged our payment of the room twice, claiming the first charge didn't go through, though when i had checked, it had gone through and cleared.

Charged by Expedia and the motel. Not happy

Clean room. Bed was comfy with nice linen. Heater works a treat. No noise issues. Bathrooms could do with a refurb however was clean. Good location close to Forbes Inn for dinner and Sylo for morning coffee. I would suggest not showering at peak morning time in winter if you want a hot shower - hotel was full for big weekend of sport in town.

Recently updated by appearance. Provided plates and cutlery which is not always provided. No issues with noise. I will definitely rebook for next stay

Very friendly staff

This property is everything you would want in this price range and location. It was spotlessly clean, very well maintained, all appliances worked faultlessly, the shower was hot and the bed was very comfortable. Very friendly and accommodating hosts who went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was stress-free and comfortable. Easy walk to shops, restaurants, pubs etc. I thoroughly recommend.
