Holiday Inn NANJING XUANWU LAKE by IHG, an IHG Hotel

The room was smelly and it didn’t look very clean.

Great location with a nice view of the lake. Breakfast is wonderful. We appreciate the friendly hotel staff and clean modern facilities

TIP... Beware the incorrect location of this on the Hotels.com etc marker map , or google… it is not just the usual google error in china of a few hundred metres, this is KILOMETRES from where it is shown. It is incorrectly shown on Google mainly (95% of the time) just south of Nanjing railway station. The address of 199 Longpan Rd is correct, BUT the map location marker is UTTERLY wrong. It is actually 3 km away. It is right on the large intersection of Bancang, Beianmen and Longpan. It does appear about only 5% of the time on Google in the correct location??!! (bizarre... usual china). Directly outside is Entrance 2 of the Gangzicun station on Metro line 4. (which of course is not shown on Google at all ??!!). The hotel is good, albeit aging now and carpet bit grotty..., but be aware, even with double glazing, (the balcony doors leak sound), on the south side, the never ending noise of morons in their cars honking at nothing, goes on all day and night (such cretins). It's the number one thing you notice in China… pointless noise. Luckily I brought insulation tape with me (haha I never travel without my tool kit), so I could reduce it 50% by double-taping the door leak. FINAL TIP. Always have your hotel name and address in full Chinese characters and NOT just translated, ask for the actual name and way THEY write it eg Marriot in Shenyang is "10,000 good" (Wan Hao) in Chinese !!!! This will save your bacon many times.

Had a wonderful stay. I complained about the temperature in my room being too warm and not being able to lower the temperature and they brought us a portable heater we could use. The staff was very accommodating, courteous and professional.

The hotel is really good, the breakfast has many options and allows you to explore the Chinese cuisine, as an international, it was pretty good. The room and amenities conditions are similar to a top ranked hotel.

The chair had a stain in the center that would like up with any of the pelvic orfices

The hotel is near the scenic West Lake. It is convenient to local restaurants and shops, but away from the downtown hustle.

Holiday/Xuanwu is the best value in China. I've stayed all over the country, you simply cannot find a more beautiful hotel, with better food and wonderful staff cooperation for this price anywhere else in the country. Simply the best! They've done a fantastic job of redecorating, they're very personable and want you to be pleased. With this great attitude, I imagine most guests are just that. We certainly were!

Nice hotel. It is close to Nanjing International Convention Center and sits just beside subway line No.4. Clean and state-of-the-art room. Nice staff. All is good.
