Pandora Vista Retreat

Tiffany was extremely accomodating. This hotel is near the less frequented WEST GATE of the park, which means a lot less options for everything. Only because of Tiffany's help throughout our trip would I say this was a 5 star experience. 4 stars mostly because the nearby restaurant is very local and might not be suitable for Western families with toddlers, like ours.

Mixed Experience at Pandora Vista – Great Staff, But Several Drawbacks Pandora Vista is conveniently located just outside the west gate of the national park, and the hotel offers transport to the entrance, which is a nice touch. The highlight of our stay was Tiffany, a staff member who went above and beyond to assist us. She helped with tour bookings, route planning, and general advice—her support truly made a difference and was the best part of our experience. The hotel itself is small and has charming, cozy rooms. However, cleanliness was lacking, and we noticed mold on the walls, which was concerning. During our visit, the hotel was crowded with families, and the noise level was very high—from early morning until late at night. The hallways and pool area were filled with loud shouting and screaming, which made it difficult to relax. Meals are served a few hundred meters away from the hotel in a rather shabby back room. Breakfast consisted of noodles, dry bread, and occasionally some fruit—no drinks were provided, and overall it wasn’t worth eating. Dinner was available at the same location, but the menu was extremely limited, overpriced, and lacked flavor. Unfortunately, the hotel’s remote location means there are few, if any, alternative dining options nearby.

Our stay at Pandora Vista Retreat was truly exceptional. The hotel offered outstanding service, going above and beyond to accommodate all our needs. Surrounded by breathtaking views, the location was both peaceful and picturesque. Linda, our main contact before arrival, was incredibly helpful in ensuring we reached the resort safely. During our stay, Winnie, the resort staff and English translator, was always available and attentive, making sure everything ran smoothly. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

If you want to stay in the country side with no room service, no restaurant, outdoor bathroom (which I don’t recommend in the winter) then this is the hotel for you. It is probably not the best option for tourists that are visiting Zhangjiajie as it in an isolated area. The hotel itself is clean, and the views are amazing! It was a good experience but it wasn’t what I had hoped.
