Hotel Amazon by On Vacation

We stayed at On Vacation Amazon near Leticia from 31 October to 3 November 2025. Unfortunately, our experience fell significantly short of expectations, and I would not recommend this property nor the affiliated SelvaTours operator to other travellers. 🏨 Hotel — On Vacation Amazon What initially appeared to be a jungle escape quickly became an uncomfortable and frustrating stay. Key issues encountered: • Misleading package & food situation Our booking ($341.87 AUD, double standard room, incl. breakfast and transfers) did not make it clear that you must purchase a full-meal package or pay inflated restaurant prices once onsite. The hotel is isolated — approximately one hour from Leticia’s port — with no alternative dining options. Once you arrive, you are effectively captive. • Aggressive upselling & membership pitch Upon arrival, guests are subjected to an hour-long sales session for a USD $5,300 hotel “membership”. It set an uncomfortable tone and felt highly inappropriate for a hospitality environment. • Poor room infrastructure & comfort • Air-conditioning only available 8pm–5:30am and only upon request, often with a 20-30 minute wait • Bats in the room, including one flapping around while we tried to rest and others trapped in the walls • Rooms constructed of thin timber planks with no sound insulation — early-rising guests and loud TVs/music from 4am made rest impossible • Room odour likely from humidity and wildlife presence • Cleanliness passable but certai

Wunderschönes Hotel. Einziger Nachteil, es liegt im Jungle , 30 min mit dem Boot auf dem Amazonas. Das war auch ein wenig Abenteuer. Ohne Boot kommt man leider nicht vom Hotel weg..

it is a holyday resort at the edge on the Amazon jungle. keeping in mind this, the resort is spectacular. within the resort there are clean wooden boardwalks and which goes then into silty jungle paths. there are good daytrips available. what you can't expect is hot water in the shower. the 90minute transport from the airport to the resort is well organized and pretty picturesque.

Nice Place to disconnect, beautiful view of the Amazon river, Nature sounds all day around. Keep in mind that there is jot Cellphone reception due to the Hotel location. you can pay for WiFi approximately $3 to 4 dollars for 6 hours only and you can only use Whatsapp for messaging and audio calls (not video calls).

If it’s not the worst place in the world it’s definitely the worst place in the Amazon. I purchased prepaid, all-inclusive package for 2 adults and 1 kid. False advertisement from beginning to the end 1. First of all, they do not mention anything about the fact that property can be only accessed by boat. It’s takes about 1 hour and cost is 45,000 peso (15$) per person one way, adding 90$ to your bill for 3 people 2. When you arrive, you will get to a jail style resort which you can escape only by boat and again you have to pay 45000 per person for any ride to any stupid shopping holes they choose to take you 3. All-Inclusive they advertise is far from All Inclusive. No beer is included - you can buy one for 5800 Peso!!! No wine is included - cheapest bottle available is for vinegar wine at 100,000 peso No rum - they said they “ran out” at 12:00pm on a day of arrival Only available liquor was Extra Cheap Gin and Vodka I would be scared to wash my foot in. Literary gasoline at the most 2$ per gallon No juices! Yes in the Amazon, where every hotel and restaurant offers you local juice, this Tourist Trap will give you Chemical colored Syrup, disgusting, corn syrup filled nasty liquid 4. Food was disgusting. Dinner starts at 7pm. No tables were available until 8:30pm. At 8:30pm there was a line of at least 300 people and it took us at least good hour to get to buckets of vomit they call “great tasting buffet” the only thing I could eat were boiled eggs

Le lieux est magnifique en bordure du fleuve Amazone. Belle piscine, la zone de cocktail, la restauration sont agreables, mais l'etat general d'entretien global de l'etablissement, des chambres ainsi que des salles de bain laissent à désirer. Quel dommage pour un établissement de ce type qui devait être très beau à ses debuts. De plus l'accueil à la reception se fait d'une manière froide avec très peu de sourire...

La primera noche sin ventilador, no es recomendable tomar tour con otro operador diferente al hotel, si hay problemas perderas 1 día, no hay señal wifi ni celular, el viaje mejoro gracias al gerente.

Le pire hôtel que j'ai jamais fait, aucune justification au niveau du prix. Chambre sale sans serviettes (la chambre n'était même pas prête pour mon arrivée alors que je les avais prévenu, j'ai attendu 45 minutes) et personnel extrêmement désagréable dès mon arrivée (pas la totalité mais plus au niveau du management). Refus catégorique (et avec un grand sourire) de m'aider à porter mes valises à la chambre (pourtant nuit à 85€ ce qui est une grosse somme pour la Colombie). Apparemment, ce service n'est pas inclus avec les services offert par l'hôtel.... ils ne m'ont pas aidé pour le trajet d'arrivée à l'hôtel qui est assez complexe quand on ne connait pas et j'en passe...décidément aucun service n'est inclus pour cet hôtel. La nourriture est infecte, sans gout. L'hôtel est une sorte de club de vacances (de nombreux clients sur la terrasse par exemple, plus d'une centaine de personnes) extrêmement bruyant, ce n'est pas la bas que vous allez vous reposer. L'hôtel est gigantesque et certaines chambres sont très loin de la réception (20 min à pieds pour la mienne). Je ne recommande clairement pas. A vrai dire, malgré une réservation de 4 nuits, je ne suis restée que 3 nuits alors même que je ne pouvais pas me faire rembourser et que j'étais ric rac financièrement... C'est clairement une honte de fournir un service de ce genre. HOTEL A FUIRRRRRRRRRRRR

Muy lindas las instalaciones , las comidas no fueron deliciosas. los tours muy buenos aunque el ultimo de conocer Brasil no vale la pena

The location is the best, inside the jungle and overall a very good place to be.

El hotel es bonito y tiene buenas instalaciones pero el encanto se pierde con la mala calidad de la comida y el desorden de las actividades. El personal es bueno pero se siente estresado y prevenido. Yo no regresaría.

La estadia no fue muy agradable, el aire acondicionado no lo prenden si 9:00 pm a 7:am y no se puede modificar la temperatura del aire, la alimentacion no es muy regular y no varina la comida ademas no hay snack entre las comidas es falso lo de snack ilimitados, el no cuanta con una planta de energia de emergencia para todo el hotel, nos cambiron de habitacion por este motivo sin que nos dieran una habitacion de las mismas condiciones, ademas se presentaron quejas por malestares intestinles se cree que fue por la comida del hotel, yo estube con un level malestar pero en el areopuerto me encontre con otros huespedes que me comentaron que estubieron muy malos por el mismo malestar

En general es un buen hotel la estadía fue buena pero la idea de acercarse más a la selva por quedar en un hotel alejado de Leticia no es una opción recomendable sí estás allí los tours solo se podrán reservar con ellos y pues tiene sus ventajas y desventajas en general lo recomiendo pienso que le faltan zonas de diversión o entretenimiento.

Excelente experiencia, un hotel de selva. Buena comida, los senderos largos e ideales para fotografiar hermosos pájaros como tucanes en su hábitat, él bioparque algo que no se pueden perder!!! Quedamos muy satisfechos

The best hotel you can find in the middle of the jungle. A great finding....For sure there are a few bugs, wi fi is not the best....but you can't expect more in the middle of nowhere. Very nice staff, spacious and clean rooms, nature and animals into the hotel, great tours. You have to take a taxi from the airport to the harbour - 7 minutes, then you have to take a boat - 20 minutes. When you go out from the airport, hotel staff offer you a two ways ride. Only pay one way because on the last day you go to a tour to Tabatinga, Brasil and they leave you at the airport anyways. Food is ok, a bit repetitive, but good.
