Cosmopolitan hotel

Absolutely loved the hotel, the staff was very attentive and friendly, organised very well everything we asked for and at short notice as well. The room was very nice and spacious with lots of storage and fridge. The breakfast was very tasty, fresh and amazing selection. The location was perfect, walking distance to Egyptian museum, the market etc, lots of shops and restaurants just on the doorstep. We had a great stay and would love to come back again. Big thanks to all the staff to make our stay so special.

The place was charming from the moment I walked in. Great staff! The restaurant had a diverse breakfast buffet and lots of fresh lunch options. The location was excellent. Lots to do but not noisy at night. Great value for all that they offer. I have traveled all over the world but this was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in!

Enjoyed my stay here in the heart of Cairo. Staff were great and the breakfast provided was of a good standard.

Hotel stay was great. Great location. Our issue was from the tour we booked to Alexandria through the hotel. Ahmed spoke great English but he does not make a good guide for Americans. His misogyny was too loud. While the history he offered seemed sound and was interesting he spent too long talking about his own opinions.

Good in the middle of the old town

Staff was great and room was super clean

Built in 1927 the Cosmopolitan with is old age elevator and uniformed Bell Hops bring back the eloquence of a by gone era. The reception staff is kind, professional and efficient.

Good wifi. Nice place. Had airport shuttle.

Das Hotel liegt optimal in der Nähe zum Tahirplatz, trotz belebter Umgebung sind die Zimmer ruhig. Wer etwas angestaubten Jugendstil liebt und keine gesichtslose internationale Hotelketten, findet hier, was er sucht. Allein der Aufzug ist einen Besuch Wert! Die Zimmer sind gemütlich, aber alles wackelt und klappert, vor allem im Bad! Das Personal ist leider schnell überfordert, man darf es nicht eilig haben. Es wird jedoch bei allen Problemen effektiv improvisiert, beispielsweise bekamen wir Zimmerupgrades, nachdem in der ersten Nacht unsere vor Monaten reservierten Zimmer nicht verfügbar waren und wir zu viert in einem Zimmer untergebracht wurden. Der Zimmerservice in der 4. Etage von Herrn Saeed Hassan war hervorragend, der Service auf der 2. Etage hingegen fast nicht vorhanden. Zum Frühstück gab es eine große Auswahl an Speisen, hier findet jeder seinen Geschmack. Ein Hotel wie aus alten Filmen, in das wir jederzeit wieder kommen würden.

It was good overall. Just several of the staff, at the front door and restaurant were not friendly nor attentive. Rather they just were engrossed on their phones. Omar at the front desk was fantastic, really making us feel welcome and spoke very good English. Breakfast was very good, coffee decent and chef very nice. Oddly the others would just stand around chatting or on phones and offer no service. Bell boys were nice. Very nice sitting lounge.

We chose this hotel based on excellent location in the heart of Cairo downtown. You can comfortably handle the whole downtown by foot, stores, restaurants, museum, etc. Area is typical Cairo-downtown and somewhat chaotic, but we found it safe day and night. Hotel has guards outside, no worries there. Hotel itself is comfortable, in interesting old style, clean with functional but somewhat small rooms. Especially unique is the elevator, a must see! It is a compromise between smaller and cheaper places (loud) in downtown that are perhaps more appropriate for younger visitors, and more upscale and expensive ones (mostly further away, you need taxi to get to center). As the idea was to explore Cairo and use hotel mostly for a good nights sleep, this turned out to be a good choice. Free buffet style breakfast is extensive, coffee not something to brag about. Room was clean and attended daily, bathroom renovated. Our room was reasonably quiet, except some dog barking. In Cairo hotels, outside noise during night is something that needs to be paid attention to as there are a lot of complaints from visitors from other hotels in downtown - but this hotel is located somehow a short stretch into a small street that is blocked by the hotel so it is not an issue. Shortly - we found this hotel to be a good choice if you are there to explore Cairo.

Breakfast was lousy

The breakfast buffet had terrible coffee and flavourless food. It also seems that many people don't know to close the doors on the older elevators, so it would not move to pick us up until a staff member went up and closed the doors
