Ashfield Hotel

There were not curtains or black out curtains on the windows. The mirror had emotion detection led lights and as I was trying to switch them off I found a syringe, thankfully without the needle. I'm very disappointed with the overall condition of the room.

Difficult to check in. Car park tricky to find. Shower and sink did not drain.

i took us a few minutes to get in as we did not have the code so we had to phone no one in person is there only a phone and intercom

No staff, basic, could have been cleaner.

My room smelt of Urine, it was over powering, tv did not work, no coffee facility and blocked shower! I recommend you pay a little extra and stay in a travel lodge

Emailed all information ID check, and £50 deposit. Didn't receive keycode. Parked car in wrong place thinking it was the hotel but it was the next ally down (needs signage) Pressed button to get in, luckily someone one was in front and kept do open.Pressed the ring door button and asked for key and she couldn't understand me, eventually got key. Went to room, smelt old and musty.Had a big fan which was as noisy. Managed to open the balcony doors, which were stiff. No open window in bathroom. Shower was tiny and unusable. Asked where to move car. She didn't understand me, eventually told me. Tried to get back in and she kept saying where to park car. But I was at the back door trying to get another code. Had to go back round to the front and get in that way. Disgusting that no one is onsite to help with trivial problems like this. And I also feel this is a real health and safety breach. Bed was firm, uncomfortable and had BED BUGS. Made me and the wife feel really dirty. Couldn't wait to escape. Also could hear others talking and banging doors. Contacted Expedia for help. Only plus side is the fridge and microwave and TV was big.

Tired decor, but room spacious. Nice towels. Bed base badly stained. Fridge, microwave, decent fan, iron & ironing board, but no hairdryer! Generous check-in & check-out times, but check-in procedure a faff. Overall, ok for the price we paid.

£65 a night (!) for a crummy room with a window propped open by an ironing board; black mould in the shower room; faulty sockets; semi broken desk to hold oversized microwave; broken shelf in bathroom; broken clock; one tiny towel; broken ceiling fan; rusty mirror; rusty soap dish; and - of course - no iron. A total misuse of the word 'hotel'. Just a collection of crummy rooms in a once grand house.

Was very Cosy nice no complaints

It was ok. Decoration was rather tired. TV had come off the wall in our bedroom and was balanced on a table. Bathroom was clean but not in a very good state. Beds were comfortable. Two ladies running the hotel were friendly and helpful.

Big room with nice furnishings, and helpful facilities: table, fridge etc. Shower room had missing tiling/some coming off. Remotely-organised check-in with info only sent by e-mail.

Clean and tidy room, however room did not reflect any of the images of bedrooms on the website. All the images on the website show large bedrooms with exit from either side of the bed, however our bed was shoved into a corner with no exit available from one side or the end of the bed, very little space in the room either. When my mother asked for an upgrade this was not made available.

Too old …no elevator and room on attic floor. Very disappointing. Do no use this hotel . It should not be included in hotels.com list

This venue is absolutely nothing like the photos. It is a run down building which clearly hasn't been decorated for years and is filled with a load of mis-matched junk furniture. The room was spacious but certainly not cleaned to an acceptable standard. The smell in the room was disgusting. There were no staff at the location. I was assisted in gaining entry to the building and my room by other newly arrived guests. The only "staff member" was a very rude woman with a thick, barely-understandable foreign accent. I did not feel safe at this location. I immediately left and fortunately managed to find an alternative hotel in town.

Was a bit of a pain to get the key out the safe for my room as I'm only 5ft and the safe was high up, there was quite a bit of dust in the room especially on the bedding, a plug socket that wasn't working didn't have a notice to say, room looks like it's needs a few repairs on wallpaper and tiles in the bathroom can't remember what else was wrong
