Brilliant one night stay to see a show at the New Theatre. Clean and comfortable room and bathroom with a really nice continental breakfast the next morning - the option of boiled eggs and toast was spot on. Brilliant location with plenty of weekend street parking on nearby roads and on a main bus route into city centre. We actually walked back in around 40 minutes later in the evening to stretch our legs - easy, walk. Friendly manager and lovely lady doing breakfast in the morning. Will use again next time we visit.

Mark and the breakfast staff provided excellent service. They were extremely helpful and accommodated our request to park the following day. Thank you for your outstanding hospitality.

Look, it’s an old house. We knew that when booking. Now the biggest gripe we had was the temperature of the room. Understand that there’s a heat wave in Europe at the moment but the 3 of us in one room with one fan made our stay unbearable. Even if there were more fans, you’re just blowing hot air everywhere.
Europe doesn’t have much AC partially because historically it hasn’t been necessary for the short amount of heat waves annually. There may be regulations as well, I’m not certain but I am certain that the world/weather is rapidly changing. Heating up! I don’t see us reversing that trend soon because we rely so heavily on fossil fuels. Having said all that, a solution needs to be figured out because I would not return without one.

The place was clean enough and the staff were friendly but it was let down by really awful decor (I don’t think it’s had a makeover in about 40 years). The shower in our room was broken. And the window almost fell out when my wife opened it. The breakfast was said to be continental’ but consisted of fruit juice from concentrate, instant coffee, cereal, toast and a boiled egg if you wanted one. There was some fruit and yoghurt but this is not what I consider to be continental. For £270 for two nights I think it was poor value.

The hotel was really great. Mark was an amazing host and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. The room was spacious and comfortable. The only minor downside was that the toilet flush and shower pressure were a bit weak. The continental breakfast was delicious, and we really enjoyed it each morning. Quite easy to go to the city center as there is a bus stop nearby. We would definitely stay here again.

L'hôte des lieux est vraiment super. Très agreable , sympathique. Le lieu avec parking est bien situé.
La chambre avec frigo est assez grande. La chambre avec la déco anglaise d'une autre époque peut sembler désuet pour certains mais nous avon bien aimé. Le petit dejeuner continental était vraiment très complet et de qualité avec plein de fruits frais.
Nous avons passé un tres bon sejour. Merci

Room was very spacious. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast said until 9.15 (Saturdays)but staff were clearing the breakfast things away by 8.50 thought this was far to early. Nice selection of fruits and yogurts, cereals, but note no full breakfast only boiled eggs. Excellent value other wise.

L'albergo e' carino nello stile dei piccoli hotel a conduzione familiare. la camera mi e' piacciuta ed era confortevole. Avrei solo tolto il terzo letto messo in mezzo alla stanza che non serviva essendo il letto matrimoniale sufficiente per una sola persona. La distanza dal centro citta' non e' poca ma l'ho sempre fatta a piedi essendo un buon camminatore. Buona colazione servita da una gentile signora

Four day stay whilst visiting son at university. Location ok with bus service very close. Communication from hosts prior to our stay was really good. Self checkin (late around 8pm) was easy. Breakfasts were nice with lots of fresh fruit and eggs etc.
Room was very dated and bed headboards very dirty. Curtains ripped, pillows could do with being replaced.
Walls are very thin so could hear what was going on next door. Towels not replaced until asked and then no hand towels provided. TV didn't work but that didn't bother us too much.
Room does have kettle, tea, coffee etc.
A little noisy with street noise but not too much.
Good enough for the budget traveller as Oxford quite expensive place to stay.

This place was old and very run down. The rooms. Were incredibly small with only one chair which was way too big for the room. The sound of running water was constant. The hall way smelt odd and the service especially at breakfast was less than acceptable, even thought the offering of tea, coffee, fruit, toast and eggs( upon request only) was reasonable.
