Room big and quiet in centre of frome

Arrived mid evening and car park was full. Evening meal was OK but nothing special. Access stairway to rooms had a vacuum cleaner and bags of hotel laundry on the landings. Room was small but had everything you would need for a one night stay. Breakfast was excellent; the best big about the George.

Lovely greeting from Wayne, easy check in. Nice property. Great breakfast choice. We shall always use The George when in Frome.

Great staff, central location, spacious room. We are at the front of the hotel so there's a bit of street noise.

Hotel and facilities were good, just had a slight problem with noise at night from the main street,

Enjoyed the pub and surrounding town , staff and food excellent. being in a room at the front property could not sleep due to the noise from the high street, room itself is looking tired and needs refreshing. Would stay there again if I could get a room at the rear of the property

Staff was very welcoming, service was excellent. The only concerns I had was the windows inside my room. They didn’t seem too accessible in case of a fire etc.

The hotel needs renovations: the paint work and carpets are tired and tatty. The breakfasts were poor, though the staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was very uncomfortable, much too hard. Bathroom very good, clean and fresh; nice towels and soaps. Chocolates as a welcome a nice touch.

We booked for the secure parking as it was a stop off on our holiday trip, highly recommend if this is important for your trip. Parking and breakfast included in the price of the room too, making the stay a bargain. The 2 ladies serving Breakfast were brilliant and we left feeling very welcomed and positive due to their good spirit and hospitality, thankyou! We also ate in the pub on the evening and food was excellent with good portions. Would definitely stay again

It was a very nice and clean venue. There's alot of stairs which is fine, but something to consider if you strugle walking. The room was larger than anticipated and very nicely decorated. Would definitely book there again.

Frome half marathon on Sunday meant all local roads closed for the whole morning. Also hotel closed bar at 8.45pm on weekend due to 'maintenance'. Unfortunately we were not informed about either of them.

I booked a single room, and the room was a single, with single bed and small bathroom, very small shower, and water pressure in the shower was not great, and stopped completely halfway through my second day shower. The room was at the top of the house, up three flights of stairs, no lift. I managed to carry my case up two flights, then needed to return to the bar to ask for help. This was given with no problem, and to carry my case down at the end of my stay, but I feel the help should have been offered at check in, especially as I am clearly an older person. I consider myself fairly fit for my age, but the stairs were beyond me. I assume the single rooms are all on the top floor, and this should have been clear on the booking info. Otherwise, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Good provision of tea/coffee etc, and biscuits every day. Electric fan provided, Essential for this hot weather. Lots of electric plugs, so I could charge phone, laptop and other stuff at the same time. Breakfast included, not great, but a good variety offered. Good service at breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. The car park is behind the pub, accessed via a coded locked gate.

The staff were so genuinely welcoming and attentive, with lots of great local knowledge. Excellent service throughout.

Cold water was not working in the bath in our room

Lovely hotel, nice people, great food.

We were given a “quiet” room at the back but it was noisy. Avoid room 16 as there is a noisy industrial extractor fan outside the window and you can hear noises from staff in a kitchen beyond midnight and starts again 6am

Room quite comfortable although many stairs and no lift. Car parking not guaranteed and parking spaces very tight for larger vehicles. Staff very helpful and friendly and breakfast good. Located in centre of town and close to bus stop.
