Host Stay The Paddock

The company managing the property only seemed interested in telling us about their requirement to make an arrangement to cover breakages at the property during our stay. We could either pay an insurance fee or a deposit which would be returned minus an administration fee 14 days after we vacated the property - why 14 days? There was no clear information about this requirement until after the booking was made, by which time we could not cancel. We assumed that due to the operation of a scheme like this everything would be pristine - it was not. We had to wash all the crockery and cutlery on our arrival ( we decided not to use the kitchen utensils during our stay ), the glasses in the bathroom had clearly not been cleaned since the previous occupation, there was human hair in the bedside cabinet drawers and bathroom floor. Our final communication from the company managing the property was to leave the property clean when we left. This was tricky as the only cleaning materials provided were an old pot scrubber, some window cleaner, dishwasher tablets and laundry tablets ( photos attached ), the last two items being of no use as there was neither a dishwasher or a washing machine in the property. This has the potential to be an excellent property - lots of space and light and a good location. Sadly it is not.
