if you're looking for a full on Spa Hotel this is not it, the pool is small and the sauna and steam rooms are tiny and there are chairs around the pool but no loungers due to no space. That said I enjoyed those things a lot and at one point had it all to myself. The accommodation is in either the very grand old building or the travel inn style block at the back, one side looks out onto lovely countryside the other the car park. Thr room was lovely with a slightly compact shower room but I had a really comfortable night. the food in the restaurant was great with really attentive service.. thank you 😊 Breakfast was also really good, great range and plentiful..honestly I couldn't eat another thing.. The icing on the cake is the setting.. I sat outside as the sun went down with a beer on the patio outside the bar..you just see trees and grass.. just perfect. The staff all great all the way through, all requests met with a positive response and a smile. Don't book direct its much cheaper via the obvious websites and just remember its also a wedding venue so check if there is one when you are staying and ensure you get a room furthest away.. I did and it was fine.. no real noise. In short.. was actually sad to leave I felt really relaxed.. I will be back 100% Thanks to all the amazing staff.

Had a really nice stay, the grounds were beautiful and the rooms nice and comfortable. My only complaint is that the rooms did not have air conditioning and it was unbearably hot in there as soon as the sun was up.

I have discovered after the stay that I have been charged for another guest dinner. Never in my life anything like that happen to me. Also I have left by accident my property in the room, staff confirm that it was found, but days later when I came to collect it it was missing ! Seriously what is going on? Would not recommend this hotel based on experience after the stay. Too much issues still not resolved and no communication from the hotel

Had a really nice stay. The staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. The hotel and grounds were excellent. The Italian garden was looking a bit 'tired' though, but still a nice area. Swimming pool was excellent but the showers in the changing rooms need attention. Our rooms were allocated in the 'Garden Rooms' block which was fine. Nice and spacious. There are plenty of inside areas to sit and relax. Especially the library. The choice of food at breakfast was good but it could have been hotter. If they had a plate warmer that would help I think. The bar food menu was excellent and well cooked. Overall it was a lovely and relaxing hotel. We will definitely be going back at some point.

Good amount of parking although either a trek to reception or the room as the equidistant spaces were all full. Check in felt convoluted and confused - eg the payment and whether breakfast was included or not. It was a bit of a faff getting to reception as we were not allowed through the normal entrance owing to a wedding and so had to enter through a side entrance - all quite bizarre. The bar was excellent as was the outdoor areas. The rooms were fairly compact but clean and well appointed - it was a hot day and the small fan didn’t do much to help so was stifling hot in the room - only one window could be opened fully. The Italian gardens was nice albeit a bit tatty in places - a couple of days of maintenance would sort that out easily enough. Overall decent stay and just about worth the money, but some room to sharpen up.

Would definitely recommend. The only slight negative, and really just as it happened to be mid heat wave, is that there was no air con in the room. Everything else including the food was excellent.

The park was breathtakingly beautiful and worth the stay. The staff were rather expedient. We stayed in an annex to the grand hotel which was very unattractive from the outside, though the rooms were pleasant enough. We were charged £25 extra for our dog so we didn't have breakfast to make up for for the extra cost.

Really enjoyable one-night stay. The hotel did everything well. From the efficiency and friendliness of the staff at reception; nicely decorated and comfortable rooms; a tasty dinner in a nice environment; and a very good buffet breakfast. They really didn’t put a foot wrong. The room was a little warm, but we are in the middle of a heatwave. And although the room didn’t have air conditioning they helped out by putting a fan in the room.

What a stunning place to stay. Majority of the staff encountered were pleasant friendly and helpful. Swimming pool and surrounding spa area was clean, however the changing rooms were rather small and cramped. Beautiful well maintained grounds

The stay was very good but the weather was hot and there was no air conditioning. Also we were in the garden wing which was quite a shock when we first saw it as it looked like a 1960's car park and totally out of keeping with the main building and photos online. However the rooms were fine although extremely hot. Food and service was excellent and leisure facilities were good.
