The Dolphin

Surprisingly lovely pub given town centre location. Berr gardens is a real treat, lovely interior and reasonably priced food and drink. Room was everything you needed- very spacious, plenty of tea/coffee toiltries. Loved the early breakfast set-up, all laid out ready the you are- great for us as we're always up at stupid o'clock and wanted to get back on the road early. Really pleasant stay, ideally located for the races- highly recommend.

Lovely staff, easy parking and a nice size room with a lovely bathroom. Only downside was the bright lights outside the window which made it a little bit harder to sleep!!

Stayed there for the horse racing. Service excellent and parking very convenient.

We always have such a nice stay at the Dolphin. It’s relaxed there, but super clean and nice rooms with comfy beds and lovely bathrooms. The food is SO good too. Highly recommend!

The hotel is actually a few cozy rooms above a pub. The rooms are spacious enough. I have also stayed at the Lodge in Newbury and the Dolphin was miles nicer. I was worried about noise facing the street, but it was very quiet. I never heard any noise from the pub. The staff were very nice and accommodating. This felt more like staying at a friend’s house. The staff are only there during limited hours, so if you are coming and going early and late you may find it inconvenient to get towels or other items refreshed. No after hours check in. You will have a key to access the building after hours.

Friendly greeting as always. Set really close to town Centre, a characterful lovely pub. No hassle sign in. Room clean and always some bottled water. Smallest grumble was the lack choice of Jam for breakfast Will definitely stay again

Very small room and super hot... Stairs only. Window looked out on other windows so have to be careful for privacy. Great staff and breakfast!

Nice and convenient for our needs visiting family. Good size room. Small bathroom. The only real downside is that they dont service the room when staying more than 1 night. Food in pub very good with nice helpful staff.

Room clean and Tidy. Bed comfortable - had a good nights sleep. Continental breakfast quite adequate. Bar staff very friendly. Will definitely stay again.

Room was good , slight issues , tv wasn’t tuned correctly , no guide , don’t think the tea/coffee tray was refilled , only 2 small milks and no tea spoons ! Worst thing toilet cistern handle not working , water continually run instead of refilling after flushing , niggly things really ! Would stay again !

Nice hotel. A shelf in the bathroom would make it more comfortable. Limited choice for breakfast, but that might be after-effects of covid.

Really relaxed stay - great pub with beer garden, food was delicious. Catered for vegans and made us feel very welcome. Room was everything we needed - would definitely stay again.

This is a lovely pub with refurbished bedrooms. It is located in the centre of town with great parking at rear. The staff were lovely. Breakfast is in the fish bowl! Lovely little room and there was plenty of continental food, no hot breakfast
