The room was lovely. I would definately recommend it to anyone. The landlady and landlord couldn't have been more helpful delicious breakfast too.

Clean room and bathroom. Lovely hot water at all times. Very comfortable beds.
Well spaced tables for dining. Very helpful staff. The food was excellent. Well prepared and very good portions. Any leftovers were purely for no room to stuff any more!
The prices charged were on a par with any of the best restaurants, with king sized portions.
We stayed overnight as we had a car in the local garage which was going to take most of a day to repair. We were told to make ourselves at home while waiting for the garage to confirm the car was ready. Nothing was too much trouble.

The staff in the bar and at check in were super friendly and helpful.
The room was really lovely. Roomy, comfortable, good size tv and large en-suite bathroom. Quiet, warm and lovely biscuits in the room.
Best of all the mattress was soooooo comfortable.
We had lunch in the bar which was yummy too.
Would highly recommend staying and eating at The Tawny Owl.

We had 2 rooms booked.
1st room was great, large, very comfortable bed, towels were clean and fresh. Room on the most part was clean,
The bathroom was a little tired looking, basin was cracked, bath panel could have done with a coat of paint. Window was very grubby, not helped by the pigeons on the roof.
Despite it being a very hot day and evening we closed the windows due to the road noise. There was a small fan in the room, but it was so noisy we had to turn it off.
2nd room was next to kitchen extractor. Very noisy and filled the room with the smell of cooking. There was no way the window could be left open. It was so hot we had to prop the door open. The extractor was turned off about 20:30, however it was turned on again quite early the next morning for breakfast.
We were warned that the football would be on so if we needed food to book a table early
The pub was very busy, we sat in the garden, service and the staff were great.
Although we only snacked on things, the food was good. My husband had a cheese ploughman’s, the portion size and quantity was amazing.
Overall it suited us for the one night we were there.
Easy to park, food on site, good garden.
Just needs a bit of TLC here and there.

Hotel too noisy. Unable to get a good nights sleep.
Restaurant okay. 3 of us dined. 2 meals were good, 1 was atrocious.

A good overnight stop on our journey to the south coast! Very friendly staff in the bar welcomed us, and were extremely helpful. Nicely decorated and spacious rooms. A good choice of decent meals on the bar menu available in the pub, so convenient not having to dine elsewhere. Excellent value, and both the evening and morning staff were great. Yes, a bit of road noise, and extractor noise heard in our 2 rooms, but we are used to silent nights living in a rural location!

Before you book, know that the primary business here is as a VERY popular family friendly pub!
Most of the staff were very nice and helpful, though there's an expectation that you already know things and the anticipation that you are going to ask things that are wildly off target.
The room was spacious and fairly comfortable, though needing a bit of attention--peeling paint, saggy loveseat, better pillows.
A good place for a base to explore the region and basically be a place to sleep between excursions.

Rommet hadde bra størrelse, var komfortabelt og koselig. De fleste forventede fasiliteter var tilgjengelig;

Begge var meget godt rengjort, men gulvteppet hadde mange store flekker,
og på badet flasset malingen av listverk -

transport er følgelig påkrevet
Jeg spiste middag i hotellets pub.
Menyen bestod av typiske pubretter. Min middag var helt grei mhp kvalitet og porsjons størrelse,
men dette er definitivt ikke noen Gastropub.
Støynivået i lokalet
var meget høyt.
Før avreise spiste jeg frokost (ikke inkludert) i puben -
den smakte meget godt

Arrived about 6pm to be told hot meals ceased at 4:30! Hugely disappointed, one of the primary reasons for choosing this property was the prospect of a pub meal having been travelling all day.
