Maleme Mare Beach Resort Hotel

The hotel itself is immaculately maintained, with beautiful, well-kept grounds that create a lovely first impression. Housekeeping was excellent throughout our stay, and our room was cleaned to a high standard every day. The majority of guests appeared to be over 60, along with a few couples travelling with very young children, mainly from Eastern Europe. There were very few UK visitors during our stay. I travelled with my two teenagers (17 and 18) during the May half-term holiday, and they were a little disappointed that there was no one in their age group to socialise with. If you’re interested in boating or water sports, you’ll likely find plenty to enjoy. However, as my teens are non-swimmers and not particularly interested in water-based activities, we found there was less to do on-site. That said, the hotel provided information on local excursions and activities, which proved invaluable. We particularly enjoyed Pista Go Karting, which had excellent facilities and high-quality karts. We also took a Segway tour of Chania, which was both fun and informative from a historical perspective. One of my teenagers even went paragliding and was told it was the first time a hotel guest had ever requested it! Given the hotel’s typical clientele, that wasn’t entirely surprising. Most of the staff were warm, welcoming, and helpful. Special mention must go to Stavros and Elena, who were an absolute mine of information and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed

Lovely hotel on the sea front with two great pools. It’s a little far out from Chania but we used the local bus service to go to Chania and platanias which had a lot more going on. We enjoyed our stay which was good for a four night break. Rooms are immaculate

We had a wonderful stay at Maleme Mare, right from the friendly welcome. The staff were friendly and professional and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was clean and well maintained throughout, including the pool and gardens. No issue with sun-beds either, there are plenty to go round. The food was really great. Plenty of variety at every meal time. Overall we had a super relaxing week and felt we were being taken care of at all times. We will definitely be back

Fun hotel with great staff and team. There is no hot tub- It’s been closed “since Covid”… but still listed in the booking. Also Extra charge not mentioned in the booking for beach loungers and umbrellas. Pools were great. Food was very good. The Booking page offers this hotel “on the beach” but there is a two lane road for tour busses and other traffic between the hotel and the beach, so we think it is across the road from the beach. Also the beach is rocky not sandy. We had A Great stay and will return!!

The owners / managers (Kyriakos and Stavros) along with all the staff could not have done anymore for us. We received a room upgrade and the staff are so helpful with sorting of any issues / responding to queries. There was no problem gaining sunbeds around the two pools and the buffet style ‘all inclusive meals and drinks’ were very good. The hotel has developed a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and this was an ideal place for a relaxed family holiday. There is a bus stop outside the hotel with a regular bus service to take you to nearby towns if needed. Would definitely look to return.

Nette, fast schon familiäre Atmosphäre, sehr zuvorkommende und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter! Authentisches Essen, tolle Auswahl an griechischen Leckereien, kein "All inclusive Einheitsbrei", aber immer auch Pommes und Pasta verfügbar ;-)

Great visit and hospitality top tier!

Decent place for saving some money while exploring the area. Free parking. Nice pebble beach with big waves. Central location to see historic WWII areas and Elafonisi beach.

The Staff at Maleme Mare were always very friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The room was spacious and modern and cleaned daily. There are two lovely pools with comfortable loungers and a great bar and lounge. The food was great, with lots of variety including some excellent local dishes. The hotel is directly infront of a quiet pebble beach, which was perfect for us to go between the pool and beach. Our son also enjoyed the onsite games (table tennis, pool and air hockey) while we had a drink at the well equipped bar. Overall great stay, would definitely come back.
