Tempi Hotel

For the price, the Tempi is a terrific option for hotels in Athens. It is smack dab on a little square in the Monastiraki area, surrounded by cafes and restaurants. That said: you’d better like stairs. It’s straight up, with no elevator. The rooms are small, but serviceable. Plenty of hot water. The common coffee area is a good place to meet people, if they so choose. The staff can be a bit grumpy. It’s a bit above backpacker level, and way below luxury, but has a way of earning affection. You will go back; I did.

The property is clean and the employees are very friendly. Unfortunately my room was 108 steps/ stairs from reception on the ground floor. There was a luggage elevator from the first floor to the fourth floor, which means that you carry your bags from reception to the next floor and again from the fourth floor to the fifth. The stairway is circular marble stairs. 108 steps determine the very essence of your day. The rooms are super tiny, where you cannot open your suitcase. It is a choice between storing your closed suitcase and being able to walk on the floor. Centrally located and cheap

Sijainti mahtava, hinta-laatu suhde hyvä: todella edullinen perusmajoitus keskellä vanhaa Ateenaa. Kaikkialle pääsee kävellen ja ruokapaikat ovat ympärillä. Pieneltä parvekkeelta hieno näkymä Akropolille! Henkilökunta erittäin ystävällistä.

Staff are helpful and room is basic but I had the budget room and for the money I paid was adequate, the location is fantastic every thing is on the doorstep very lively area with plenty of history and bars/restaurants etc

I got this hotel at the very last minute when I arrived to the airport. The room was ready when I got there. Receptionist guy who checked me in was very friendly, nice, and helped with my bags. Very prompt. Easy check-in. Hotel is in square with restaurants and places to go out for a drink, small shops nearby, and close to metro, buses and trains. Very convenient from the airport too using public transportation. Affordable.

Honestly this place was not terrible for one night but there were things wrong with it that I think some people may not like. The bed and room was clean but the shared bathroom and shower were not. The staff was friendly and kind. It was also super convenient to have a storage luggage for free. The area surrounding this place is great! If you want to be in the heart of Athens this is great. Overall it was good I just feel that I paid too much. It was 37 euro for a double bed shared bathroom and I think the price should’ve been 20 euro.

The Tempi Hotel is in a fantastic location for exploring Athens and its attractions, and has an abundance of bars / restaurants on its doorstep. At the end of the day all you need is a bed after a long day exploring, so you definitely get your moneys worth with this place. Please bear in mind there is no people elevator (there is one for luggage) and the single rooms are at the top of 5 flights of stairs, so being fit is advantageous. The owners, especially Katerina are helpful and caring people. I experienced some issues and the help and assistance I received was fantastic. Highly recommended and if I’m ever back in Athens I will be returning here.

Excellent Location, Nice Balcony with view of Acropolis

Great location! Great view to the acropolis! Very nice receptionist. The place is not of the best quality but nice enough. Comfortable beds and generally clean but can do a bit more detailed cleaning.

Well, the staff were all very friendly. So no complaints there! But, the room itself was not what we were expecting. It was quite small, and we struggled with finding a place to put our luggage where it would be out of our way. The bathroom was overall a horrible layout. It was a little closet with a toilet and the shower was literally in the same spot. Like if you would turn on the shower, you would spray the toilet, toilet paper, and trash can. The shower head would not stay on the holder, so you physically had to hold it with one hand while bathing with the other. The sink was in the actual hotel room, and it had a toothpaste spot on the wall that I noticed right off the bat when we arrived. During our whole stay of 5 days, even after someone coming in each day to “clean,” that spot stayed there. They did not seem to sweep the room either. There was no elevator, so you had to walk up two flights of stairs to the second story. They did have a lift for luggage, however. Each time you would leave, you would have to turn in your key on the way out, and ask for it again when you would return. As far as convenience goes, it was in a good and safe location. Things were definitely walkable from the hotel. Just, know what to expect before booking!

The Tempi Hotel is in the perfect area. The owners are super friendly and helpful. But the room we stayed in had a very important problem. It was only roughly clean. Don't look under the bed. And the bed linen was dusty, we cleaned and maintained what was necessary ourselves. I'm not there to clean, but this would be a tip for the hotel, the balcony door was completely leaky, it was very cold at night. We had to sleep in our jackets. A hand brush and dustpan and a mop with a stick would have been very helpful, but I don't spend money on that on vacation. The bathroom also needed maintenance. There were some rust spots and the fittings should be replaced. Very calcified. And it was very dusty. If you're not above anything, the hotel is a hot tip, just because of the owners/operators. It is very loud, though. Still highly recommended for those who aren't sensitive. And its really cheap !

Brilliant location, i had a view of the acropolis from my room, absolutely perfect for a solo traveller. There is only a luggage lift so if you struggle with stairs try and request a lower floor. But for the price and location it was spot on...

Room too small

Friendly reception staff and a convenient location for public transport and the airport bus. Many high street shops and a variety of restaurants in the area. There is a communal kitchen. Our room was compact with nice soft pillows.

Dit hotel staat in het centrum. Als je de straat uitkijkt zie je de Acropolis. Locatie is dus fantastisch. Het hotel zelf is wel wat primitief. Badkamer is een oud balkon met een toilet en een handdouche. Wastafel in de kamer en een klein tweepersoonsbed. Kledingkast viel bijna uit elkaar. Maar wat ik al schreef, de locatie was fantastisch en dat maakte dat ons verblijf ook fantastisch was. De heren bij de receptie waren uiterst vriendelijk en zaten er 24/7. Al met al hebben we een heerlijk drie dagen Athene gehad. Want deze stad MOET iedereen gezien hebben!
