Hotel Sita

Hotel Sita is the perfect location in Varanasi if you want to be amongst the action. You are on the banks of the Ganges moments away from the busy ghats. To get to the Sita you’ll be dropped off about 1km away. You’ll then navigate the narrow lanes to walk to the hotel. Ensure your maps app is working. Don’t be put off by this at all. The hotel is basic in terms of facilities. No proper shower and the rooms could do with a deep clean. The staff are wonderful and helpful. We ate in the roof top restaurant and enjoyed the food. Be aware it is noisy as you’re so close to the ghats. I’d suggest two nights stay and you’ll get the full Varanasi experience. Thank you to Sanjay for the walking tour. My wife and I stayed three nights at Hotel Sita – unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. Despite informing the hotel about our late arrival four weeks in advance, the entire property was locked and dark when we arrived. We ended up sitting on the stairs outside from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m., as no other accommodation nearby was open. The next morning, the staff simply said they couldn’t do anything because we had booked through an external platform. Instead of a refund for the missed night, we were offered breakfast and a late checkout – a kind gesture, but not real compensation. The hotel also recommended their own guide, which we initially thought was part of an apology. However, it turned out to be a paid service, which the receptionist clearly knew from the beginning. The room itself was fine – comfortable bed and a beautiful Ganges view – but the balcony door couldn’t be locked, which is unacceptable for travelers with valuables. The bathroom was very basic and far below the standard expected for around USD 100 per night. Nearby hotels with similar views charged only 20–40 USD. Overall, this was the worst value-for-money experience I’ve had in any hotel. On the positive side: friendly reception, good English, and a great night atmosphere overlooking the river. But if you agree to a late check-in, you simply cannot leave guests outside overnight. A real shame – our amazing time in Varanasi was heavily overshadowed by this experience. More rip-off than nice place.

部屋からガンジス川が見える部屋に泊りたいと思い、このホテルにしました。ガンジス川に接しており、想像通りで良かったです。周囲にレストラン等も多いので、食事にも困りません(中にもレストランがあります)。少し古い建物・部屋でしたが、清潔でした。 空港からのホテルへのタクシーを手配してもらいました(1000ルピー)。このホテルに限らず、川沿いのホテルは路地が狭いので、最後の数百メートルは徒歩でのアクセスのみです。タクシーを降りてから、ホテルまでの経路は、迎えが無いと初めて訪れるときは難しいかもしれません(Google mapでなんとかなりますが、狭い路地に進入するのに勇気が必要かもしれません)。 全体的には満足なホテルでした。周囲のホテルと較べて、少し高めかなとは思います。 一点気になるのは、タクシーの手配のため、Hotels.comの連絡機能で連絡しましたが連絡が無く、ホテルのホームページからメールアドレスを調べて直接連絡したら、返事がもらえました。タクシーの手配は問題ありませんでした。 ホテルとは関係ありませんが、ガンジス川の雨期の増水を甘く見ていました。ガンガーをつなぐ川沿いの道は完全に水没していて(8月中旬)、各ガードには、川と反対側の狭い路地経由で行く必要がありました。

プージャを観るのにロケーションが最高でした。

It was a wonderful 2 nights stay there. We had booked three rooms for 6 of us. Hotel is right at the ghat. But this is not for elderly people with walking difficulties. Ideal place to explore ghats. Food is excellent. Hotel staff ensures you have no problem with luggage. We visited during Kumbh and it was little tough. Hotel staff make it easy even though we had 10 suitcases in total ( 4 bigs and 6 small). But you also need to be cooperative. Little bad conditions of the washrooms. Water dripping problem exists. Overall good comfortable stay

とても静かで清潔でした。タクシーを降りてから小道を多少歩くのですが、電話をすると荷物を運ぶのを手伝ってくれます。スタッフの方は皆良い人でした

The manager was wonderful. Very helpful and kind.

My trip was absolutely horrible, the place is back dated , it was filthy , the TV did not work, we did not get the room that we payed for , we were told that , that room was occupied. I would not recommend anybody to stay there , I wouldn’t give it half a star.. The bathroom floor was always wet . Photos are very deceiving.,please don’t go by their photos

Great service . Location is best . It’s very close to all the activities. Right on the Ghat , we swam in Ganges and we walked to see Ganga Arati and to the temple .

A little tricky to locate and if it wasnt for prior advice that you must get dropped off at main street and find property from there. Telephone calls and messages sent via hotels.com all unanswered. Property helpful to arrange tours but costs and schedule unclear and payment was more than suggested. tip: get it in writing and costs in advance and who exactly gets paid. plus plus plus Location great.

Taxi Could not even drive to hotel and had to drop us at an intersection for a rickshaw to take us to hotel. After several attempts the ricky could not even reach the hotel. Customer service is POOR and Phone calls to the hotels phone were UNANSWERED so we were forced to find another hotel. I was not able to get back a full rebate

Vi blev fint emottagna av receptionen och övrig personal. Däremot lite tråkigt att rummet var i det skick som det var med dåligt avlopp i duschen och allmänt smutsigt i rummet. All service var okej men lite stressande med hotel transfer till flygplatsen eftersom vår bil inte var på plats i tid.

ホテルの場所は地図では探すことができず、車を降りてからも15分程度歩かなければならず、辿り着くのは難しい。施設は古いが、ここから眺めるガンジス川は絶景。ルーフトップのレストランの味も良く、やはり景色は最高。スタッフは温かく親切。 普通のホテルでは味わえないバラナシならではの滞在ができる。

We had an excellent stay at the hotel Sita. The staff treated us like family, from helping organize a guide to lead us to the hotel from the Main Street, to helping us schedule an all-day tour of Varanasi starting at six AM the next day with an excellent tour guide. We had arrived late at night and had not booked a tour in advance, but the hotel has a number of trusted guides and we were able to start a tour the next day at 5:30 AM. I can strongly recommend Diamond, who led us to burn famous and special out of the way locations over a two day tour. I was aware that the room and building were historic and was not expecting the same bland experience as in a new western style hotel, what I did get is a perfectly comfortable room with two large clean mattresses, and most amazingly, an unimpeded view of the River Ganges and one of the historic ghats literally at the doorstep of the hotel. The bathroom was clad in marble with a full size tub and sink. The entire room serves as a shower and is very roomy. Additionally, the food at the rooftop cafe was excellent. We enjoyed fresh lime soda, ginger chai, Indian style omelettes and more. We actually never had a need to take meals anywhere else and the rooftop view and outdoor seating were spectacular. The location in proximity to the center of historic Varanasi was excellent for visiting many of the most famous ghats, taking boat rides, shopping and getting lost (on purpose) in the timeless back alleys.

Recommended only for people who want to stay on the ghat as top preference. Every thing else one need to bear it.
