Riva Beach Resort

I had booked this hotel last minute, it was the worst decision I have made, the rooms were filthy- with hairs in the beds, yellow stains on the bedding and a damp smell coming from the entrance all the way through to the room. As I entered the room, I knew straight away I wouldn’t be able to stay there. As I decided to leave and chose another hotel a 44 minute drive away, I was harassed by two men outside the hotel. They wouldn’t allow me to get into a cab I had booked and almost got my ride cancelled. This was almost 1am and as a female solo traveller, this was unsettling. Please do not come to this hotel, I didn’t stay here and they won’t let me have my refund back. The staff promised me at the front desk I would be able to have a full refund as I didn’t stay here, they lied and kept cancelling my calls when I tried. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!

The good: proximity to the beach, well appointed gym, comfortable bed, tasty breakfast. The bad: surly front desk staff, noisy room with no sound dampening, stained towels and bedding, bathroom crawling with ants, shower flooded the bathroom and no bath mat was provided, only 2 hangers in the closet to store clothing, floors so dirty my feet turned black within minutes, broken phone, inconsistent WiFi, no beach towels provided, private beach has no sun loungers either, no menu provided for in-room dining so you have to google it, maintenance staff constantly lurking around the private patios. Absolutely shocked by the misrepresentation of this hotel. Disabled people should avoid this property as there are stairs everywhere.

This was our forth stay and things have steadily improved. Anita front desk, Priya, Kiran, Prince, Ram all provided great service and attention, Thank you see you soon 👍😊

Helheten är mycket bra, vi har ingenting att klaga på. Fina rum, skön säng, bra dusch, god mat & bra service. Mysigt & grönt överallt & 3 bra pooler. Rent & snyggt. Nära till den fantastiska beachen & inte allt för långt till händelsernas centrum. Kommer säkert att återvända 🙏 Namaste!

The resort was very good other than the noisy air conditioner in the room. The breakfast and dinner buffets were excellent.

Good stay, great area and beach. Very nice staff. Will return often 👍

Superb... good for Family

Where do I begin!! I luckily didn’t book entire stay here. I did 2 nights and checked out early after one night. We walked in no one greeted us. We noted customers bags that were departing at front entrance (no door) not being supervised. Hote has potential to be better but sucks! Lobby dirty, all chairs and tables at front desk dirty and stained. Air conditioner at checkin black and filled with dirty finger prints. Welcome drink at front but flies all over glasses. As we checked in a customer was already ahead complaining Can’t type much so will shorten - no half board as not enough guest. Ate from crushed menu offered and got food poisoning All cheers on bed and pillows dirty had to get them to change. Bathroom stained with yellow stains from water standing Water bottles not sealed can’t trust its safety. GAURD won’t let you walk to beach without registering in and out. By you can exit to street no prob Restaurant dirty. Spider webs all over, dirty tables. They wipe with tissue and no cleaner. Seats dirty in restaurant. Stains all over noise from construction .. holes in walls, iztures falling apart, did half boat scoudl not get sealed water bottles as it’s chargeable. I have to buy water. Front desk wouldn’t help . Manager to come next morning at 9am and didn’t show. Housekeeping manager came - she was lovely. Checked out and moved to a 5 star down the street ..toilet paper like cardboard no sound barrier room noisy .- not enuff space to write all

Stinking rooms Stinking backwater Dirty Beach and unkept

Overall, our stay at Riva was pleasant, the beach was very convenient and clean, the staff were courteous, helpful and the resort is as green and lush as you could imagine. The spa was great, and the gym facility was readily accessible and clean. The resort and restaurants themselves are great, but have some strange policies- the resort refuses to give you a second room key which makes the stay quite inconvenient. The rooms have a button for DND, which disables when you take the room key out from the slot to turn on power.

The location of the hotel is great , besides that the worst thing in my permanence is been the various music festival running at the hotel, with very loud music until late in the night. You could barely sleep and the party would start very early in the afternoon, with sound check at 6 in the morning. The hotel in itself is overpriced , the rooms are old and badly preserved , everything looks like is falling apart, and construction with loud noises are running everywhere.

Very disappointing. This resort seems to be set up for locals and Russians. On 2 occasions we could not get a sun bed by the pool. One time we went to the beach bar. All the beds were empty but we were told every bed was reserved and there was no place for us. On 3 separate occasions we heard the beach bar manage complain to other guests about people who used the beds but didn't spend money. Be warned this is not the romantic idealic resort it looks

Stay was good very good beach well maintained resort and very clean water nearby restaurants are very nice the resort is well maintained and staff is great only very poor wifi signal and very very slow internet! Wifi is not great at all

Near to the beach, best times are over. Little to far to Goa. Nice little Bar with good food and overs A drive from the Airports gets 2.5 h

The service was very good, the staff was able to accommodate every request and was very nice and friendly.

Had very large room with fantastic view of sea. Hotel grounds are excellent. Standard of room good but could do with some work to repair the leak from the bathroom which is causing damage to wall in bedroom. If going at xmas be warned about gala dinner cost which we were not pre advised about. Seemed strange that hotel guests had to pay 3500r each while outsiders got the dinner for 1500r!!

It was a nice stay for a few nights. There's nothing really much to do around manderem beach. But there's a few shacks. Social houze was really fun, the staff there was great, very friendly and inviting, as well as the food is amazing! Esp the chicken momo's. There's also a place called coco loco which was fun for dancing.

The location of this hotel is perfect for the beach. Mandrem beach shack serves some of the best food in goa. Breakfast in the hotel is very basic but ok. The pool that has recently been put in was undergoing maintenance work so was only able to use it for 2 days out of our 5 day stay. There is also other ongoing building works so there is some noise disturbance all day. However, easy to escape by going over the bridge to the beach.

We will recommend this hotel to all visitors. The only downside is their taxi service, which is substantial over-priced.
