Very nice accommodation

Personalet var ekseptionelt venlige. Gav meget gode råd til seværdigheder, hiking, restauranter. Hotellet og værelset var specielt indrettet i grotter. Værelset var stort og moderne indrettet, god smag. En gennemført dejlig oplevelse. Næste gang ofrer jeg et værelse med udsigt over bjergene.

This was our favorite hotel on the trip. The staff were great offering wonderful suggestions, arranging a tour and taxi to catch our very early train. They even have us breakfast before we left. ❤️ the room was beautiful. I can't recommend this hotel enough if you want to stay in the sassi caveoso.

Ficamos duas noites no Hotel Basiliani, no mês de novembro, quando Matera estava tranquila e lindíssima. O hotel está localizado na área do Sasso Caveoso, uma parte histórica muito charmosa, a cerca de 10 minutos de uma linda caminhada do centro. Como não é permitido estacionar na área do hotel, eles oferecem um serviço de transfer extremamente conveniente. Deixamos o carro em um estacionamento gratuito indicado por eles, fora da zona ZTL, e tanto na chegada quanto na partida a equipe nos buscou e levou até o carro, ajudando com as malas e sendo sempre muito cordial e prestativa. Nosso quarto era moderno , amplo e confortável. Porém, sentimos que, por ser tão moderno, perde um pouco da atmosfera típica de Matera. A iluminação muito branca e a decoração interna não conversam tanto com os tons terrosos e a sensação de “caverna” que muitos hóspedes buscam ao se hospedar nos Sassi. Uma luz mais quente e uma ambientação mais integrada à estética da cidade tornariam o quarto ainda mais especial. Outro ponto a observar é que, em novembro, o ar-condicionado não funciona, o que nos fez sentir calor em alguns momentos e nos obrigou a manter as janelas abertas para melhorar a temperatura do quarto. Ainda assim, a combinação de boa localização, estrutura no geral confortável e uma equipe muito atenciosa fez da estadia uma experiência positiva.

Basiliani Hotel is truly a fantastic boutique gem! The location is perfect — close to everything yet peaceful enough to fully relax and soak in the atmosphere. The staff make all the difference: warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to make your stay exceptional. Every detail feels thoughtfully curated, from the beautiful decor to the welcoming ambience. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a charming, comfortable, and memorable stay!

The staff was fantastic

Wonderful hotel in a great location in Matera. Each room was different and wonderful (we had four rooms). The staff was great and the transfers to/from the parking garage were perfect. We would absolutely stay here again!

Was unable to partake in breakfast. Most of the staff was very nice and helpful except the man (or shuttle driver) when we arrived that nite. I don’t appreciate being yelled at by staff at a hotel I paid for. Was not very understanding and rude.

Hébergement fantastique au cœur des Sassi. Accueil superbe de l’équipe au complet avec une mention spéciale pour Giuseppe, ses bons conseils et sa grande disponibilité, comme nous véhiculer depuis le parking extérieur, à l’aller comme au retour…

Just perfect!

It’s ok hotel for fit people but several areas of mold in the bathrooms ( we had friends in another room- same mold) is unacceptable! Extremely dangerous step down at the bathroom entrance- waiting for accident to happen! Great breakfast!

We were knocked out by the comtempory feel and stylish interior to what is simply a cave. It was fresh and perfect. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. Even the lovely lady at breakfast remembered what we liked to drink with our breakfast.

The hotel was good and space in room was excellent. Limited cleaning during stay but ok for our 2 days. Shower rod kept falling and it was never fixed.

The breakfast options are limited. The location is outstanding. The room is unique, clean and spacious. The matrass is too soft. The staff is excellent, very helpful and kind.

Lovely breakfast, lovely hotel. Minor point the bathroom in room 125 could do with a lick of paint to freshen it up but overall anyone booking this hotel will be making a good choice in a unique location

E’ localizzata al centro di un paesaggio unico al mondo con vista mozzafiato. Naturalmente ciò non va d’accordo con parcheggio e facilita di trasporti perché giustamente in zona totalmente pedonale. Ma è un’esperienza che mi sento di consigliare anche perché è ricavato interamente dalle grotte dei sassi
