Finest Playa Mujeres by The Excellence Collection - All Inclusive

We had a truly enjoyable stay at the resort. The property is beautifully maintained, with lush grounds and a clean, relaxing atmosphere throughout. One of the highlights was the service—everyone was friendly and accommodating, but Eric at La Dunas Beach House stood out as the best server we encountered. He was attentive, professional, and made every meal feel special. The rooms were cleaned twice a day, which was a nice touch and really kept things feeling fresh and comfortable. We also appreciated the no-reservations dining concept in theory—it encourages flexibility—but in practice, it meant long wait times. On more than one occasion, we waited an hour or more to be seated, which was frustrating when we were just ready to eat. Overall, a great experience with just a small hiccup around the dining logistics.

We had dietary restrictions as we only eat halal and they were very good about it. Everyone in the food and beverage were notified and they were really helpful to ensure we had a great experience.

Luxurious property.

This place isn't designed for guests who want a genuine luxury experience. It's engineered to look good enough in marketing materials to justify premium pricing while delivering the cheapest possible experience behind the scenes. They're banking on the fact that most people are Americans and not familiar to a really high quality Mexican experience that you can get in other resorts. This place is all flash and no substance - the very definition of a tourist trap masquerading as luxury.

Wonderful quiet place, alot of food options. Staff were great

Folks that work there are not accommodating and helpful at all, the hotel’s air conditioning is terrible. Restaurants have really long wait and the food comes out cold. There’s no extra perks for finest club so it’s a waste of money. Beach area was full of seaweed and hotel doesn’t seem to be too concerned about cleaning. I had a finest two bedroom via Expedia with roof top pool but didn’t get the two bedrooms. The’s no privacy in the room that was provided, the bedroom and the bathroom are in the same area nothing separating, no door at all. The property is not ran the same as other excellence resorts such as one in DR or Jamaica. I am very disappointed and had to switch resorts. I would not recommend this to anyone. This place isn’t all that luxury. The hotel we switched to is really a true luxury resort, worth the money. I would not be returning to the excellence resorts in the future.

This is our third time at Finest and Fifth time overall at the Excellence collection. We did the club this time because we always enjoy the extra perks and the check in is so much more pleasant. The club has a designated beach area and it makes life much convenient as well. There are so many things we love about this resort : no wrist bands, no reservations needed for restaurants, the sweets bar is a favorite! I love the iced coffee baked goods and fresh fruit always available, the service and staff are just wonderful, I never feel like they are waiting to be tipped and they always seem to go out of their way. Clearly we like this place a lot but there are some areas they need to improve; -Seating by the pool area, it makes 0 sense to have such limited availability and also allow people to wake up at the crack of dawn people “reserve” & have the chair sit empty for hours on end - It’s completely unfair to guest and your staff to have ONE bartender at the swim up bar. A resort this size should have at least two. I felt terrible for the employees trying to keep up with everyone’s orders and wash the cups etc -the kids club: it’s for kids 3 and up my kids are 2.5 and 11 and it seemed like I had to beg for them to be included in the activities. No effort was made with either child to remind them of upcoming events or activities and that was disappointing - Finest club includes top shelf drinks but it can only be found in the club house one area of the hotel

Everything was great

One of the best resorts. Great place to enjoy all inclusive yummy food. Staff is so welcoming. Rooms with ocean view is a killer. Food is so good can't believe it . Drinks are well made . They really take care of you . Definitely repeat.

Absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived at Finest Playa Mujeres, everything felt like a dream. The service was beyond excellent—every staff member was friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to help. The resort itself? Spotless! Every corner was clean and beautifully maintained. Our room? Incredible. It had an ocean view that looked straight out of a postcard, a private jacuzzi, and—get this—a pool on the rooftop just for us! It was extraordinary and made our stay feel so special and luxurious. And don’t even get me started on the food—wow! Every meal felt like a gourmet experience, with so many delicious options to choose from. Everything was perfect, whether relaxing by the pool or strolling on the beach. Can’t wait to come back!

Absolutely loved it here. The staff was incredible. Will and Toledo were the best, they kept checking on us at the pool/bar. I recommend to everyone. It was so quiet and relaxing

Very beautiful resort

Positive: Location:45 minutes fr the Airport. Cleanliness: The room was impeccably clean and well-maintained. Staff Service: The moment we arrived at the resort, a staff member greeted us right away, and it was refreshing to have a cold towel. The reception staff at the Excellence Club were welcoming and efficient. The staff and servers at all the restaurants we visited were prompt and courteous. Food and Beverage: The restaurants served high-quality food, with a special mention of the Dommo restaurant, which is an Excellence Club exclusive. We had breakfast and dinner there, the food and service were top notch, so don’t miss it if you plan to upgrade your stay. Shoutout to Carlos, Yahir, Mario, and Alma who were very nice, friendly, and attentive when we had dinner on a Monday. - Value for Money: It’s pricey, so plan. I didn’t think that the value of the swim-up suite we paid for was worth the amount (refer to the negative review below). Negative: The most disappointing thing about our stay was the lack of privacy in the swim-up suite. We booked the Excellence Junior Swim-up suite. We had expected a private swim-up, but unfortunately, all the swim-up pools were open and shared with everyone, regardless of the room type. Our room was directly in front of the bar, which was always busy. The wedding party group was directly in front of our pool access. Note to upcoming guests: First swim-up pool we’ve been to of this kind, open to all, no exclusivity, it’s a big NO for me.
