Riad oumkaltoum

We only stayed one night but would have enjoyed staying longer. The staff was very friendly. The manager was very helpful with tips about the medina and the surroundings and was a genuinely lovely person. The Riad was a bit tricky to find with Google maps since we were sent in directions we were not allowed to go through. The last 50 m you have to walk since the Riad is located in one if those narrow alleys. The entrance is very unassuming with only a dark metal plate next to the door giving the name away. Coming from the parking lot, which is only 200 m away and costs 3€ overnight, the door is the second on the right in their alley. The Riad inside is beautiful, our room was very nice and the bed was comfy. The bathroom was standard Moroccan, but clean. It only came with a small jar of soap. It didn't bother me as I use my own product but might be important to know for others. Obviously, like with most Riads of age the once beautiful tiles in areas like a bathroom are worn. That just comes with the charme. Dinner was delicious. There are also 2 cute little roof terraces to relax on. The location was perfect to walk to the Medina and hit all the points of interest. There are also many restaurant options in walking distance. Would stay at this Riad again!

We had a fantastic stay at this Riad that we ended up spending one more night here. Starting from the beginning, we were welcomed with freshly brewed mint tea. The host offered us lots of usual travel tips and also checked on us regularly to make sure we‘re alright. The room is spacious and decorated beautifully. The breakfast consists of omelette, coffee, different kinds of bread, butter and home-made jam. Everything was served directly at the table…it felt exclusive and the portion was definitely more than enough. It’s also possible to pre-order dinner, which was prepared by the mom of the host and it tasted absolutely terrific. The location is great and the medina can be reached within only 5 mins walking distance. For those that come with a rental car - there is a large parking spot 200 meter from the accommodation which only costs 40 Dirham/per day. Overall we had a fantastic stay and can definitely recommend this Riad. We will be back.
