Hotel Vajra

The surrounding area was quite busy and a bit messy, which made crossing the streets frustrating. There were only small local shops nearby, and I often needed Google Translate to communicate. The hotel building itself was unique, and most of the staffs were generally helpful and friendly. However, my room was noisy, the carpet was dirty and dusty, and the toilet was difficult to flush — the seat was loose and kept sliding. I myself tried to fix it but couldn’t. The bathroom also had an unpleasant smell. There was a small misunderstanding about my bill due to a staff mistake; after it was resolved, they simply said “okay” and let me go, without offering any apology.

C'est mon troisième séjour ici et je me sens chez moi. Un oasis tout près du chaos😉 Le même personnel toujours aussi accueillant.

Hotel appearance,location away from congestion,friendly staff

The property is a very relaxing refuge for a traveller. The staff were very helpful and accommodating during my stay which is a call-out and a big part of the charm of the place. The rooms were as one would expect from an old world style establishment, a bit generous and functional. The grounds were pleasant place to relax.

The Hotel Vajra was an oasis in the dusty streets of Kathmandu. It was close to everything, the food was good, and the staff were very welcoming. I would stay here again.

評判通り、調度品が素晴らしいホテルでした。カトマンズの喧騒から逃れて静かに過ごすことができました。お庭が広くとても綺麗でした。レストランの暖炉が心地よく、良い正月となりました。

Quel charme et quel havre tranquillité à deux pas de Thamel cet hotel ! Un personnel aux petits soins. On m’a organisé un trek de 3 jours dans la vallée de katmandou avec une guide culturelle, Pramila Bohora (Pramila Bohora https://www.facebook.com/share/p/bhNavpZ1BwaX3euM/?mibextid=WaXdOe (https://www.facebook.com/share/p/bhNavpZ1BwaX3euM/?mibextid=WaXdOe), que je recommande fortement : Tres cultivée (master d’histoire du Nepal), gentille, avenante…. Bref un séjour merveilleux à l’hotel Vajra !

A beautiful tranquil place

The hotel is an oasis from the madness of the Kathmandu streets and traffic. It has lovely buildings, beautiful gardens and a calm aura. Highly recommended

This hotel is made for creatives and artists who want a quiet place to stay with spacious rooms, while also being in the heart of the city. Its a beautifully built hotel with some amazing wood carving, and a wonderful spacious feel while walking through the interiors especially the restaurant. The gardens and patio are beautiful with many seating areas. You won’t find flat screen tvs here but you will find a good writing desk and excellent wifi. The bathroom was clean but could do with a little interior design sparkle. The food was excellent, and the owner and all the other staff were very helpful and interesting to converse with.

Ther was no WiFi in the room

i have visited Hotel Vajra since 2013. It is one of the most reliably safe and restful places in Kathmandu and a great location point for wandering and exploration. It is western-friendly but very very local. Amazing rooftop vistas and meditation Pagoda. Highest recommendation!

Architecture is very good

部屋のポットが埃だらけ。以前の水がそのまま残っていた。 部屋でWIFIがつかえなかった。

The most peaceful hotel in the Kathmandu valley. Beautiful architecture and grounds. Very friendly staff.

Le vajra est un oasis paisible et agréable à 10 minutes de marche de Thamel. Le nourriture et le service sont excellents.
