I used the hotel as a base to my travel in Nepal. A comfortable hotel with great location, friendly staff and walking distance to bus station.

The room is nothing like the pics. Very small with a fan. Bathroom is like a closet with water leaking from somewhere so the floor is always wet. Tha patio- restaurant area is nice but the staff are like vultures. They will nickle and dime you. It was cheap but you can get a really nice place here for the same price.

I actually had a wonderful time at this guest house, but the room did not nearly match my expectation due to the photos I saw of their rooms. The hot water didn't work in the bathroom sink. Luckily, the shower hot water worked. But the room was quite cold. However, everything was made up for by the wonderful staff. It was a bit of a walk to somewhere I had dinner reservation and one of the staff members actually worked me halfway there. They helped me set up a tour guide and driver for a day at a very reasonable price. Basically, you get what you pay for when it comes to the room. And the staff is wonderful.

A not too rough around the edges guest house with a peaceful garden entry where you can escape the Thamel chaos, I will definitely visit again. Sitting with a beer out front is nice. Super friendly staff who like to have a joke and they will go out of their way to make sure your stay is memorable.

The good thing about this stay is that it is neat to the Thamel market and in The center of the city. Good location. the room and shower facilities condition can be better improved for an enjoyable stay.

Some of staff are snakes. Say the bus stations are further away than they are in order to bump up taxi fares. Also claimed there was no time for pre-paid breakfast because of journey time to bus station. So many hotels about with good staff. Avoid.

Stayed for two weeks. Helpful and friendly staff. Rooms were clean and well-maintained overall. They had complimentary breakfast.

My stay started off badly because the guest house's driver was not at the airport to pick me up. He was a witness to an accident en route to the airport so he did not show up. After much haggling at the airport, an unknown driver called the phone number I had of the guest house. They told this driver to drive me to their guest house. I felt a bit afraid, not knowing if I could trust this person and not knowing where I was going in the dark. I was so jet lagged and just wanted to get to my room, shower, have dinner, unpack and go to sleep. Unfortunately, my room wasn't booked, according to them. I had booked a standard room through Expedia and they had no record of it. So there were no more standard rooms left. The good thing is, they put me in a Deluxe room for the same price. It made me feel a lot better, except for the constant barking of a dog down below throughout the night.

Disorganised staff had obviously over booked the hotel. Moved us from a deluxe AC room which was booked and pre paid to a tiny room on the top floor with no windows, no AC. Only on complaining we were offered a $10 reduction in the rate which we accepted because we were only there for one night.

Excelente estadia, buena ubicación, muy buena información de la ciudad, excursiones. Lo recomendaría a toda persona que quiera visitar Kathmandu y tener una linda experiencia.

If you book a discounted room through Expedia then you will probably want to pay $5 extra when you get there to upgrade from dingy room on ground floor to a better one on first or second floor. No heater in winter (to be expected at all non fancy hotels in Thamel), but very warm blankets! We had problems with hot water but staff were very helpful and ready to solve the problem! The best Masala tea in town for breakfast :-) Basic breakfast included in price (toast, egg and fried potato and tomato with tea). Backup generator worked well. The tourist bus they use for trips to Pokhara (Blue Sky) is not one of the fancy ones (no free bottled water or heating) but you still pay the same price of $10.

Our overall trip to Nepal was for 5 days of which 3 days were superbly spent at Kathmandu and 2 days at Pokhara. Right from day one, our visit was made special by the very courteous staff of Pilgrims Guest House. Kalpana at the reception along with her colleagues and Sunny Lama at the restaurant along with his staff ensured that we thoroughly enjoy our stay at Kathmandu. They were very kind and patiently guided us for places we could visit. The WiFi of the hotel is absolutely superb. We didn't face any trouble whatsoever in regards with power supply. Geyser was a bit non-functional but the staff notified same well in advance. Food quality was great at the restaurant and breakfast was quite filling. We got a free airport pickup and their driver was very nice. We also got the family room which was much bigger than the 3 single beds we had initially booked. Most importantly, no extra charges were levied. That was indeed a special gesture. While leaving for Delhi, we were all given a spcl sendoff with a wraparound (khata) and it was lovely!!! Thanks to Expedia for referring Pilgrims Guest House and to each of you wonderful staffs who were wonderful and really sweet while guiding us. Surely, we would love to re-visit and make our stay at your hotel whenever we plan to visit Kathmandu!!! Wishing you all a fabulous 2014 ahead!!! Love & Regards, Sanjeev

I stayed for 2 nights at Pilgrims but the accommodation was not per the cost, charged at about $15 per night. The rooms were very small against the snaps posted in this portal. Food wasn't good, burnt out. I wanted to take a package from them for my further travel but they seemed very relaxed and got it done from another agency. I would not recommend this to any other. The cost of there rooms, budget double, should not be more than NPR 600, whereas I paid almost, NPR 3550 for two nights.

Attentive staff,free airport pickup & driver waited over 2 hrs for me for visa que +flight delay. Fast check in/out. Plenty of restaurant,winter and trekking stuff shops nearby.This value-for-money guesthouse also has a restaurant. Only minor setback is to wait 1hr for shower to get hot
