Furu Hostel

Since it was a late check-in, I didn't get to meet the staff, but they were really thoughtful and left the notes and room key in the check-in box outside the café. The cottage for four was super spacious and had that cozy cabin vibe, but the heating inside wasn’t quite enough. There’s a nice terrace, but with all the snow, they hadn’t cleared it, so we couldn’t open the door to enjoy the view. One cool thing is that they have a shared space for guests to chill and mingle. Plus, there’s a sauna nearby where you can relax in a comfy, quiet environment and even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights.

Friendly staff and volunteers. NOTE: The kitchen is only open from 8am-10pm. The door is locked after these hours making it extremely inconvenient for those who wake up early for a morning hike or those who arrive late and want to prepare a meal. You cannot access your own food when locked and there are no alternative fridges in the hostel. There are no exceptions. The laundry is only open from 4pm. You are unable to do any washing in the morning. There are no exceptions. If you decide to bring alcohol, you are not permitted to store it in the fridges in the kitchen. There are no other fridges for storage. They don't like their patrons to consume alcohol within the hostel and ask that it is consumed outside by the lake. Not sure how this works during inclement weather conditions. There is no 24hr common area with other fridges or kettle. If you decide to do your washing, you must pay a fee for this. They will ask you to tip them upon payment. If you decide to use the Cafe, they will ask you to tip them, once again. This is not a budget friendly hostel.

Wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer im "Hostel". In Deutschland würde ich es als Alternative zu einer Pension sehen. Kaffee ist sehr schnuckeilig, Küche als Gemeinschaftsküche erfüllt seinen Zweck. Sonderzubuchung Sauna top, Lage am See traumhaft

Im Prinzip ist die Unterkunft in Ordnung, mit ein paar kleinen Investitionen (z. B. ein ordentlicher Wasserhahn im Bad, eine Lüftung im Bad, in der Küche ein wenig mehr Sauberkeit) wäre es eine richtig tolle Unterkunft. Versprüht, vielleicht ist das aber auch so gewollt, sehr viel Backpacker-Charme. Trotzdem wir haben uns bei Euch wollgefühlt, Ihr seid gute Gasgeber. Das Essen bei Euch war sehr lecker.

Beautiful place, great common area both inside and outside. We had late check in and it worked great. Cafe is delicious, loved the sauna and the apartment room was comfortable and had outdoor space as well.

Dinner oli erttäin hyvä, palvelu hyvä. Paikassa on ihan oma henki ja fiilis ++. Sänky oli liian pehmeä ja siitä oli vaikea nousta pois varsinkin seinän puolelta..Huone ei myöskään vastannut netissä ollutta kuvaa eikä siinä ollut ilmanvaihtoa.

Very nice stay and lovely people. We had the chance to discover and there is place for everyone : from shared kitchen exchanging experiences in foreign languages to nice dinner enjoying home made food after a wonderful sauna with view lake and lake swim…. Rosa sunsets with the lake….I hope we could come back.

Erittäin viihtyisä paikka, pienenä miinuksena huoneiden olematon ilmanvaihto (pakko pitää ikkunaa auki).

Oli todella sympaattinen paikka, todella kodin omainen ja maanläheinen. Ihan pehmeät sängyt. Seinät ohuet, joten muiden äänet kuuluvat. Pieni, mutta siisti yhteiskeittiö.

Excellent accommodation and location. Stagg were very friendly and accomodating. We stayed for the opening night of the restaurant and were nit disappointed!

Wonderful place with friendly & helpful staff. And Northern Lights appeared on our second night there.

Decent and clean apartment but it was different to the one in the photos that we booked. It was clean. Only annoying bit was the bathroom drain was blocked and there was no dish soap. Overall, great location to see the northern lights and cute surroundings with a lake at 100m.

Liked the lakeside location and coziness. Stayed in one of the double bedrooms 3 nights. Everything was good but there are signs letting you know of quiet times due to noise carrying throughout the building very easily. Unfortunately, not everyone adhered to the quiet times and I was woken up multiple times throughout my stay with people moving around, talking, and slamming doors. Something to consider if you’re a light sleeper.

Tolle, ruhige Lage direkt am Wasser. Viele Aktivitäten direkt vom Hostel. Süßes Café und allgemeine Räumlichkeiten. In unserem Appartement war teilweise etwas wenig Platz für 4 Leute, z.B. war der Esstisch extrem klein. Ein paar mehr Geschirrhandtücher wären als Ausstattung ganz gut, wenn man länger als 2 Tage dort bleibt. Alles in allem eine sehr schöne und preiswerte Unterkunft, vor allem für die Lofoten. Man darf natürlich nicht mit Hotels vergleichen. Es ist und bleibt ein Hostel.
