Great location in Old town. Great service from friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again!

Convenient old town location very walkable. Noisy at night from nearby bars and restaurants. Ac broke so i had to switch to a smaller room. There was hair in the bed and on the floor- not very clean. Shower was not hot the first night. Took an earlier shower second night and it was hot. Nice staff. Drinks available anytime and they will microwave food for you on request. Small fridge in room.

Location, service, room were all great. I highly recommend.

No elevator and they couldnt get us a room on a lower floor. We had a room on the 3rd floor and they did bring our luggage up. My boyfriend has a slight handicap so walking up was an issue. The person who checked us out did not want to bring our luggage down....he eventually did but with disdain. The room is very small. The bathroom did not have a vanity...just sink, toilet and shower...no where to set toiletries. The plus was unlimited free rum drinks and a bottle of wine.

This is our 2nd time and again, beyond happy! Location is ideal, property is well taken care of and them best part is the staff! Safe, clean, great value. Our new fav property Im OSJ 😎

You were not allowed to put paper into the toilet. This was not told to guests prior to booking or arrival. I appreciate that the hotel is an old historical building, however there were buckets along the stairwelll to our room to catch drips from the roof, as well as on either side of our room door, which was really unbecoming for a hotel.

We only stayed one night for a layover. The service and communication was great. They made check in and out easy for a short stay. Great location and 24/7 open bar downstairs was really nice. I will definitely be back for a longer stay!

Great location in the heart of Old San Juan. We liked the simple rooms, the view of surrounding buildings from the roof, and the architecture of the building. The staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. We were upgraded to a nicer room with two small balconies, a big upgrade from the room we had booked, which has windows that just open to an interior light shaft. Either way, the AC works well to keep cool. The bed seemed to be a full and we would have loved the option for something more spacious, but that was low on our priority list.

Nice place.

This was my second time at El Colonial. As the first time, it was great. Staff are fantastic and so friendly and helpful. I always feel very welcome. Sadly I always just stay one night. But it is definitely worth to make my way here from the airport. Hotel is in the midst of old San Juan and lots of restaurants and bars are just a short walk away. Very nice roof terrace for some drinks or just some peace and quiet. I will certainly stay again.

Excellent service

Not for the weak at heart. We walked 8 flights of stairs; at least 65 steps to our floor just below the roof top. We didn’t’ get a choice of rooms.

Nice location in the old town, close to the Fort and the cruise ship terminal. Beautiful upgraded colonial style hotel.

Great boutique hotel - would stay again

Perfect place to stay as a home base in old San Juan!

Recently stayed here and it was amazing. I would stay here again and again. The hotel was in the most perfect walkable location. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Had a nice surprise waiting in the lobby at check in that many would be pleasantly surprised by. So many restaurants and stores nearby. The pier was in walking distance to get to other areas in Puerto Rico. A few historic sites within 10 minutes walking distance. Rooms were nice and rooftop was nice. I really can't say enough great things about this property. If you are a very light sleeper my only suggestion is to bring something to cancel noise (we listened to sleep sounds) as the streets and sidewalks of Old San Juan are close together.
