It's late March 2025 and we have just returned from 8 nights on Banana Island (a couple aged 55 and 62), and enjoyed it immensely.
We knew beforehand that it was during the month of Ramadan so not all facilities would be open - some of the restaurant options on the island were closed and most you needed to eat inside. On mainland the shops in the malls were all closed during the days but you could wander through them. This had the advantages of it being a bit quieter and we got 2 nights free!
The temperature (mid to high 20s) was perfect for us and the pool/sea were warm enough to swim in - although there were signs about jellyfish being possible in the sea so stuck mainly to the pools.
It was a bit blowy a couple of days but didn't present too much of an issue for us - fortunately the catamarans were still running so we took the opportunity to explore the mainland - taking the earlier staff boats.
The range of activities on Banana Island was phenomenal .. not many being used at this time but great to have them there. We can't comment on how noisy it would be in full season but if that but if that bothers you (which it would us) go for the deluxe, rather than premier, accommodation as a minimum on the ocean side of the island.
The staff really made it for us - so genuinely friendly and helpful - thank you to them all!!!

- Trang thiết bị an toàn tại nơi lưu trú bao gồm máy phát hiện khí carbon monoxide, bình cứu hỏa, máy phát hiện khói, hệ thống an ninh và hộp sơ cứu
- Nơi lưu trú này có không gian ngoài trời, chẳng hạn như ban công, sân hiên, sân thượng có thể không phù hợp với trẻ em. Nếu có thắc mắc, vui lòng liên hệ với nơi lưu trú trước khi đến để xác nhận họ có thể sắp xếp cho bạn một phòng phù hợp.

Nơi lưu trú này có dịch vụ đón khách từ sân bay (có thể tính phụ phí). Để sử dụng dịch vụ, khách phải liên hệ nơi lưu trú qua thông tin liên hệ được cung cấp trong xác nhận đặt phòng 24 giờ trước khi đến. Nhân viên tiếp tân sẽ đón tiếp khi khách đến nơi lưu trú. Nếu có câu hỏi nào, vui lòng liên hệ với nơi lưu trú theo thông tin có trong xác nhận đặt phòng. Khi nhận phòng, các cặp đôi là công dân hoặc đang lưu trú tại Qatar phải xuất trình giấy chứng nhận kết hôn nếu nghỉ cùng phòng. Nơi lưu trú này phục vụ các gia đình và cặp vợ chồng. Theo chính sách của nơi lưu trú, phụ nữ Qatar dưới 30 tuổi phải đi cùng với một người phụ nữ trên 30 tuổi hoặc một người đàn ông là họ hàng hoặc chồng của mình (phải có giấy tờ tùy thân và bằng chứng kết hôn). Đàn ông Qatar phải từ 18 tuổi trở lên mới có thể lưu trú một mình trong phòng. Bố trí phòng và đồ nội thất có thể khác với hình ảnh hiển thị. Khách phải cung cấp mã QR theo dõi sức khỏe qua ứng dụng EHTERAZ khi nhận phòng. Khách có thể đi phà 25 phút từ Cảng Shyoukh đến Đảo Banana để tới nơi lưu trú này. Phà hoạt động từ 13:00 - 19:00 hàng ngày. Khách chỉ có thể mang 1 hành lý và 1 túi xách tay mỗi người. Khách lưu trú từ 3 đêm trở lên được mang 2 hành lý mỗi người. Áp dụng phụ phí với hành lý vượt định mức.

Check in is not until 3pm and the property could not allow us to check in earlier. We had arrived on the early morning flight so got to the island for 9.30am.
After a long flight we were tired and could not shower etc so spent the majority of the day on the beach which was not ideal with a child. I would offer feedback to the island in terms of moving their check in time to earlier and having some flexibility.

Resort is amazing, can’t fault the island and what it offers…..two big issues however. We stayed in a 2bedroom villa with private pool…the pool was a disgrace, loose tiles lying on bottom of pool, tiles coming off all around the pool, in certain places I could put my fingers deep inside where the grout should have been and the pool was caked in mould and dirt. Considering this is a £1000+ per night resort it’s embarrassing how bad the pool was presented to us….i would go as far to say that it was dangerous for our kids. The decking around the pool was also in a shocking condition, we had to get them to screw down decking as my kids had tripped and cut their feet on it ! The staff were quick to try and resolve the issues but the problem is….it should never have been presented in that state in the first place !!! Staff in the Indian restaurant were also rude and we had terrible service on both occasions we were there….at one point we had starters, mains and desert plates on the table because they couldn’t be bothered to clear the table !!! Majority of staff were great and they couldn’t do enough for us but breakfast is another issue….everytime we went there were no tables clean and at one point I counted 7 tables that needed cleaned so either there isn’t enough tables or not enough staff. We stayed in villa 5018 so please whoever stays here next check the pool and you will see what I mean…..we enjoyed our 8 day stay but the above issues really took the shine of it for us

Great place to visit for families with kids. The food was excellent and the facilities are nice. The biggest drawback was the staff - although they were friendly, they were poorly trained and didn’t know how to execute in a properly 5 star setting.

Beautiful getaway from Doha. Nice resort for couples spend a couple of nights of peace. No alcohol is served. Beach is fantastic and super clean. Need improvement on food and service. Reception must be more organized.

We loved every second of our stay at Banana! The Breakfast buffet is insane, the different restaurants on the island are so good and the staff are absolutely unreal; they’re so kind, caring and go out of their way to provide unreal service! Majority of staff were great and they couldn’t do enough for us but breakfast is another issue….everytime we went there were no tables clean and at one point I counted 7 tables that needed cleaned so either there isn’t enough tables or not enough staff. We stayed in villa 5018 so please whoever stays here next check the pool and you will see what I mean…..we enjoyed our 8 day stay but the above issues really took the shine of it for us

Great place to visit for families with kids. The food was excellent and the facilities are nice. The biggest drawback was the staff - although they were friendly, they were poorly trained and didn’t know how to execute in a properly 5 star setting.

Beautiful getaway from Doha. Nice resort for couples spend a couple of nights of peace. No alcohol is served. Beach is fantastic and super clean. Need improvement on food and service. Reception must be more organized.

We loved every second of our stay at Banana! The Breakfast buffet is insane, the different restaurants on the island are so good and the staff are absolutely unreal; they’re so kind, caring and go out of their way to provide unreal service! Akif the concierge was exceptional and really looked after us!
