Black Burn Lodge

Really enjoyed our stay. Hosts very friendly and helpful. Room very nice, bed comfy and a great shower. Enjoyed evening relaxing in the Gazebo overlooking the river passing below. Breakfast is at the Olive Tree cafe in the village and is well worth the walk. The satnav takes you to the center of the village but the lodge is actually on the very edge of the village. Plenty of space to park the car. Thoroughly recommend.

Beautiful property, great setting by the river, nice walk along the river to the village, everything perfect, very friendly and helpful host, would recommend and hope to return.

This was just a stop to break up a long journey and take the opportunity to visit the Kielder Observatory. The property is modern, clean and comfortable with a warm welcome and super helpful host. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Just returned from wonderful two night stay at Black burn Lodge and it lives up to the rave reviews. Stunning location by the river, where we spent the evenings in the gazebo enjoying the views and a glass of Baileys . The room was spotlessly clean with high quality bedlinen and furnishings. Also separate lounge if weather not great. The hosts make you feel so welcome and provide a lot of formation about where to eat and visit in the area. Would highly recommend and hope to visit again.

Bed and rooms are absolutely gorgeous, comfy. Lovely lounge for rainy days. Lovely hosts. The ONLY negative thing is there is no breakfast! This is a big thing for me, they give you a voucher to redeem at their friends café tho

This is a fabulous property if you want to be completely off the beaten track. There is no dining available and breakfast is offered in a different location. The town has only 2 places to eat which get booked quickly. Overall it was a good place to stop on our way home but personally I would only stay for 1 night maximum.

This really is a fantastic find with friendly helpful hosts , nothing was too much trouble and the house itself is amazing . The weather wasn't kind to us so we didn't get a chance to enjoy the beautiful gardens but hopefully we can put that right at some point in the future . Breakfast at The Olive Tree was just a short walk/drive away and was tasty and plentiful and we couldn't resist buying a couple of cakes for later ! All in all , a lovely break , thank you so much

Thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Michael and Jane were excellent hosts. Highly recommend and we will definitely be staying again.

Everything about our stay was excellent. Superb host and hostess and breakfast was very tasty using local produce. Room was just lovely and site of the property next to river was very relaxing giving a good base to travel the Borders area and beyond.

What a wonderful stay! Breakfast was top notch, not surprising as our host had her own restaurant in the past. The zen gazebo a bonus.

We enjoyed our stay very much; the hosts are welcoming and helpful. Our room and bathroom was super clean and beautifully decorated. The outside spaces are calming and relaxing. Excellent scrambled eggs for breakfast (something which I think can be hit and miss sometimes)

Highly recommend. Very friendly and helpful owners, spotlessly clean, superb breakfast and gorgeous location which the owners have made the most of with many areas to sit and enjoy the outdoor space. Will definitely be back.

The property was very well located, very easy to find, very warm, friendly welcome. Room was spacious, very clean and modern. Great lounge area to relax in. Really enjoyed the breakfast- good quality products and choice. Many thanks to Jayne and Michael for looking after us.
