The Luib Hotel

Interesting old drovers inn near Crianlarich. Stands alone at the road side amid stunning scenery. We only stayed one night. Comfy beds. Quiet. Bathroom a bit spartan.Didn’t have breakfast due to early start. Perfectly adequate evening meal. Very welcoming staff. Would recommend for a stopover.

Cleanliness is not their thing! Found a veil of dust on the kettle, spots inside the mug, boot footprints INSIDE the shower, a shirt fell on the floor and I picked it up covered in dust. No hangers anywhere, they were also taken off the bathroom door, leaving the holes. Wifi was no working at all. The lady at the reception told we I could have had a bad connection. So, if you know in advance, why don't you do something??? Breakfast is not included even if it's stated outside it's a B&B. I had a good sleep and bed was comfy but it could take a minute to fix things! Absolutely overpriced for the price paid!

Quirky pub and accommodation. Food really good. Staff very freindly. Free parking.

Cute place on the main road. The staff is very friendly and the food was excellent.

Worst experience ever! For some reason The hotel was booked for 2 adults and not included my 2 boys , when we arrived at the hotel very late at the night, the arrogant and mean private hotel owner didn’t allow more than 2 people in the room even including children. Since no ways to find other hotels nearby, my husband and one boy had to sleep in the car. I knew it’s kind of my fault and made rush reservations, but never had issues before, and most hotels accommodate children stays. The hotel itself is very old, has creaky floors, I can hear people’s snoring at the next room. Dark hallways and stairs, easily trip. The hotel was not worth it for the price, would not recommend.

Lovely folks and cool old drovers inn. Unfortunately we didn't know there was no food available on Mondays or Tuesdays (though I contacted the hotel twice when booking and was told we would be able to get dinner at least) Bed was a bit funky but good enough

Stayed one night in this historic Drovers Inn. I loved it. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good and reasonably priced. Will definitely stay here again.

The owners were kind and helpful at getting us checked in and showing us our rooms. The place was sufficient for our needs but not ideal. There were no outlets in our room that were reachable. We had to plug things in in the hallway. Our bedding was clean, but the extra pillows on the top of the cabinet did not have changed pillow cases and had hair on them.

My son and I spent one night here on May 2, 2025. It was an exhausting day because we were lied to and ripped off by Europcar. We couldn’t get any roadside assistance even though we paid extra for it Upon arrival at the Luib, we were met with understanding and caring. They have a small staff and a tough job. The owners are very successful people and have owned a number of businesses in Europe and now live in their hometown. I bonded with them and staff immediately. Some reviewers are upset that they were denied bathroom amenities. Sadly, I can see how some entitled people treat the Luib like it’s a public rest stop with free public amenities. That happens to them constantly. The Luib has so much character inside that you really do need to stop here. If not staying the night, go there in the evening for drinks, conversation and atmosphere. I was shown genuine kindness by the owners and hope to see them again next year. We were very satisfied with our stay and the ambience was priceless. Highly recommend.
