La Ventana Azul Surf Hostel

Perfekt! Allt är helt fantastiskt!

Chill place, kind people, liked that we could make every meal at the hostel. Not a partyplace, i like that. It depends on Which room you Get, How noisy it is and fresh air. If im going back to Las Palmas, i will stay at this hostel.

Hostel has great location, couple meters from the beach. There is a small shop on the opposite side of the street, but there is also mercadona, supercor in 10mins walking distance. Hostel has two kitchens (one rooftop, one lounge) and both are well-equipped. There are many showers and toilets available on first floor. Beds are not so comfortable and all common areas are closed between 11pm and 8am. Also there are many outside guests and former guests coming into the hostel at all times which is quite weird, but results in intense social life.

The staff were 100% lovely, helpful and friendly. The only issue I had was fixed immediately. The hostel is kept super clean throughout. Guests were truly international and there was a great friendly vibe. Kitchens and seating on ground floor and roof, from where you can see the ocean nearby. Free drinking-quality water, first time I've seen this in many trips to the Canaries. Good wifi. Main showers and basins in safe-feeling unisex area on middle floor. Clean and warm IKEA bedding. Super convenient to beach, good supermarkets, buses, etc. I was in the 4-bed female dorm that has a window to atrium rather than to outside. That could have been annoying at night but the staff ensured quiet from 23:00, so it was probably quieter than an external window? Imagine it's hot in summer, but then you are in the Canaries... Me gusto mucho el sitio, su personal y sobre todo su ubicación, sin duda un sitio al que repetiré si vuelvo al norte.

I honesty loved my stay here. It was the first time after some years that I went to a hostel again and I got welcomed so lovely. I‘ve met wonderful people there, guests and volunteers. It‘s been like a little family for my stay. I’m grateful for my time at the La Ventana hostel :)

It was a nice experience to stay at the hostel. A lot of fellow solo traveling people in the 30'ties I had many good conversations. Location on point. Not too close to the very turistic area of the beach. Recommend the female form.

I've booked in this hostel for 3 nights and I left after the first one. The hostel looks fine, nice terrace and good location. I've decided to left after 1 night because i got 9 bites from bed bugs (when the receptionist took photos of my bites, the manager told her "it could be a spider or an other insect") They were full and they couldn't set me up in an other room. They changed the mattress (probably the manager realised that weren't spiders or others insects bites..better late than never), but i didn't feel to stay anyway (i was in a 6 beds room). I don't blame anyone for that. Unfortunately, it happens sometimes in hostels. I just do not agree with the hostel policy. I've asked them if it was possible to get the refund from my 2nights left, and they told me no refund in case of bed bugs, it's their policy. So, just to let any traveller know, there no refund in case of bed bugs. As I wrote it, i don't blame anyone. It happens in hostels sometimes. From my point of view, their policy is not fair. Plus they told me that weeks early of my arrival they had the same problem with an other guy. Think guys before to book this hostel.

Well my first Hostel 1 blk from the surfing beach!! Comfortable bunk bed. Everyone was friendly and Tuesday is Taco night $5 euros! Yummy.

Everyone there was super nice and everything was clean! I really liked the vibe and you could also go easily to the supermarket or the city by walking or bus!

I really enjoyed staying at this hostel for the last 2 nights of my holiday in Gran Canaria. I would definitely recommend it to others and would have stayed there longer except that I had a flight booked back to the UK on the Monday! It is such a chilled friendly hostel with a lovely roof top terrace, seating area nd even a 2nd kitchen, also a sweet cat called Selma - not allowed in the bedrooms obviously. And it is such good value - of course you have to share a dorm with otheres, but the curtains around the beds, also night lights above each bunk mean that you can get privacy. There are useful large drawers under the beds/bunks where you can store your clothes etc, also lockers - take your own padlock or buy one from the hostel. The ground floor kitchen and dining area are great too, meals and other activities e.g. yoga are organised if you want to join in with them - the breakfast for 5 euros looked very tempting...the roof top terrace (2nd floor up, no lifts) has a grat view of the sea with waves rolling in...if surfing is your thing there could be no better place. Or you can just sit with a drink/breskfast and admire the view.

Friendly staff ready to answer any questions and they was cleaning aaaall the time. So the toiletts and other common areas was very clean. Nice hangout place inside and the rooftop was small and supernice since it wasnt windy up there compared to at the beach. Location was great, close to restaurants, beach and shopping. 25 min walk from busstation.. This hostel has a chilled surfvibe. So it is not luxurius in any way. The cat is also supercute. But.. and there is always a but.. This hostel is not for people who would like to go to bed early since the walls are paperthin :) You can hear people talkinf from the rooftop until 22 and then they will go inside and continue the party/talking until midnight ... so there will be plenty of noice if u want to sleep early.. so make sure u donr wanna sleep early;)

We had a very very good week. 10/10 will definitely come back!

I had a great time at Ventana Azul, the lication is very convenient right by the surfers beach and the staff is very helpful and friendly
