Hotel Continental

Ausreichend grosses Zimmer, genügend Platz für Kleidung. Alles sauber, Matraze angenehm hart- ich konnte super schlafen. Ruhiges Zimmer. Aussergewöhnlich freundliches Personal an Rezeption- man hat sich sehr wohl gefühlt!! Schön zentrale Lage- perfekt für unseren Kurztrip. Gerne wieder in dem Hotel! 👍

Very nice hotel with in 2 minutes walk from train station and also in the middle of everything. Breakfast was a plus. Loved it.

Really enjoyed my stay here. Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Breakfast was wonderful and exceeded my expectation. The cleaning staff were immaculate. Clearly all the staff cares about the hotel and it really shows. Room was smallish but had tons of built in storage and it was more than ample as a solo traveller. Would recommend and would stay again.

Es un hotel cómodo y sencillo. Podrían cambiar la alfombra de las habitaciones que se ve muy sucia y vieja. El desayuno es sencillo y bueno. No pasé nada de frío y eso se agradece mucho

Great location, with an easy walk from the train. Right in the heart of Zermatt. We appreciated the storage room and boot warmer/dryer, as we were skiing. However, the free breakfast was very basic, and the woman who manages the breakfast room was difficult to deal with (reminding everyone 5-10 minutes before the breakfast closed, even though we'd been there every day and knew the closing time.) She hovered a bit and was not friendly. The bigger concern for us was lack of coffee maker in our room. This made it necessary to go down three floors just to get a cup of coffee every morning, but we thought no problem, we'll do it. Turns out - that IS a problem. We were told we could not leave with a cup of coffee and there were no "to go cups." This was very frustrating and inconvenient.

Super freundlicher Empfang und wir konnten trotz zu früher Anreise unser Zimmer gleich beziehen. Wir wurden herzlich willkommen. Unser Zimmer verfügt nach Rückkehr vom Abendessen über keinen Strom und Licht. Da das Hotel ab 21:00 Uhr kein Personal mehr im Haus hat, haben wir verzichtet den Fall zu melden und sind ohne Licht und Strom zu Bett gegangen, um den Picketdienst nicht in Anspruch nehmen zu müssen. Als wir den Stromausfall in unserem Zimmer am nächsten Morgen meldeten, wurde einfach nichts unternommen. Auch nach dem Morgenessen kein Strom und niemand hat nach mehrmaligen nachfragen etwas unternommen. Da wir aber auschecken mussten, um den Zug zu erreichen war duschen und die Benutzung des Badezimmers nicht möglich. Das Problem hat sich somit für das Hotel vermutlich gelöst. Im Sinne, Kunden reisen ja sowieso ab. Ein absolutes no go. Auch wurden wir während der offiziellen Frühstückszeit informiert, dass Punkt 10 Uhr kein Kaffee mehr serviert werde. Solches Verhalten kennen wir nur aus Hotels in der Schweiz und würden wir in anderen Ländern nie erleben. Zimmer war alt und lieblos, aber sauber. entspricht dem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis des überteurten Zermatt. Eigentlich schaade, denn wir fühlten uns beim Empfang sehr wohl, können das Hotel aber wegen des enttäuschenden Services betreffend Stromausfall nicht weiterempfehlen. Wir haben einige andere Hotels im Zentrum von Zermatt, in ähnlicher Kategorie besucht und waren immer stets zufrieden. Schaade.

Amazing front desk service!

Large room, great that it offered amenities such as kettle and a fridge. Breakfast was basic but fine. Great location and view from patio was amazing. Beds were fine but the pillow was a bit flat. Staff were nice. Overall happy with the stay.

right in the central Zermatt, 5 min walk from the Zermatt train station and also the train to the Matterhorn. would stay here again.

The hotel is located five minutes walk from the train station.conveniently located near the shops nd restaurants.The room is ok with a view of the Matterhorn on a clear skies..The room is so hot no air condition,we cannot open the door outside the veranda coz there are lots of flies.The bed is comfortable but the pillow they provided is only one per person and too soft..You can hear squeaky noise from the top floor..The breakfast is ok just wish they have hot breakfast in the menu..

The hotel is right in the heart of the town. There's free city local buss for free rides.

Wifi is slow and flaky: I was disconnected from a zoom meeting multiple times and it was a struggle to use the internet to book a hotel room for my next few nights. In room refrigerator did not keep things cold and the in room safe did not work. In contrast to the hotels.com description, there is an elevator. The room is larger than in many Swiss hotels. The staff were helpful and friendly and spoke good English. The breakfast is good if you like the excellent bread, cheese and jam but the only hot food is toast and boiled eggs (as in many other Swiss hotels). There's lots of hot water and the bed was comfortable. There's a room behind the front desk for left luggage which is more security than in some hotels.

Hotel staff (I don't recall the name) who helped us was super good and polite. He took extra effort to give us room with view without extra charge. Additionally I was surprised that our room ready to check in by 12 noon. Breakfast was good too. Location is perfect, just 5 min walk from train station and main market.
