Ocean Coast Hotel at the Beach Amelia Island

Location is great for walking to the beach!

Property didn't look ANYTHING as advertised and rooms, carpet, and furniture were old and damaged. This was DEFINITELY not worth the price for a suite. I will not be booking on this site again.

I would recommend it.

I liked the big pool and the hammocks. Good breakfast and close to beach.

Complimentary bike rentals were a plus! Good breakfast also. Parking fee is a bummer tho.

Good location

The morning of our stay, I received a call informing me that I was banned from the property and would not be able to check in. This was surprising, as I had never stayed there before. After I explained this, the staff member checked again and realized it was a mistake due to another guest’s information. While I appreciated the correction, the situation could have been handled more carefully, and an apology would have been appropriate instead of giggling about it. As for the accommodations, the room itself was average. One of the lightbulbs was missing, the hot tub was out of order, and the “pool view” room we booked had an obstructed view due to a large concrete pillar. Additionally, there were personal items of clothing left on a bench in the common area, which did not give the best impression of cleanliness or attention to detail.

The only bad thing is, that the curtain didn’t completely cover the window, so I have to put up a sheet and the door didn’t seem that safe.

My experience was not good at all.. there’s a additional $60 charge they don’t tell you about ($50 deposit & $10 parking) so be prepared for that.. then I smelled weed the entire time there, threw up twice cause it was so bad & I have severe asthma/COPD had to use my inhaler more than usual. The people that stay there are very loud & even though they say don’t party they most definitely do. The maintenance man was nice though even with the tv not working, the conversation was great. The beds are comfy though.. & don’t be scared like I was with the toilet sounding furious, I got used to it after awhile.

They sent me a pre check which asked your name and res # to complete on their website . The res # is not the same as hotels .com so I couldn’t do it . Had to call them . When we got there to check in first 2 rooms they gave us smelled moldy . They gave us a third room and it smelled better but I think they used air freshener in it before we went in . We stay 2 days . We never got our room cleaned or fresh towels . The tub shower didn’t drain they did fix that for us . The bathroom door didn’t close . Probably the most annoying thing was charging us $20 to park $10 per day . No where does it say that on hotels .com. The parking lot is enormous and was about 20% capacity at most . All the beaches that surround the area don’t charge for parking !!! They are probably the only ones who actually charge in the whole town !!! The bed was comfortable . The breakfast was decent . The room was large- we got the deluxe . It was one block from the beach .

The front desk was helpful, but we didn’t stay. The hotel was filthy, there was a cockroach in our room. Needless to say we did not stay

The most damp hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. Made all our clothes and stuff feel wet. However the pool was great, location was awesome and the free breakfast was surprisingly good. Anytime we needed something cleaned or more towels, staff was very responsive.

Every dish in cabinet was dirty..coffer maker has mold in it. Original room was not cleaned when I opened the door the was 3 day old mess. Offered an upgrade to kitchenette!

We have stayed here 5 years in a row. This was our 2nd time this year. The pool was nasty, the hot tub didn’t work at all, and the new management sucks honestly. We booked poolside rooms side by side we wound up on the back of the property with rooms 130 & 138! The cleaners don’t speak no English at all and I personally seen one of the 4 that were cleaning each room together drinking a miller tall boy on the job. Very disheartening this has been our home away from home for years lots of memories with our kids here but we will not be staying here no more. We had to literally call 3 times to get our room deposits back and the first 2 times all I was told was it had been released back to the card and we would get it in 3-5 days the 3rd time one of the same people I had spoken to before in 3 minutes we got the alert it was pending on the bank account really? We wounder how many other people they have done this too that just gave up. I hate to say it but y’all lost good long time customers. It used to be a really nice comfy place to stay with great communication and convenient amenities and friendly staff not anymore.
