We recently stayed at El Conquistador Resort for a family getaway, and while the property itself is breathtaking, our experience had a mix of highs and lows.
🌴 The Good:
• The resort grounds are stunning, with panoramic views that truly take your breath away.
• The pools and surrounding areas were well-maintained and clean, making it easy to relax and enjoy the scenery.
• The private island was a highlight—serene, picturesque, and a unique experience. We rented a cabana, which came with complimentary water and fruit, though service was limited after the initial setup.
• Staff across the resort were consistently friendly and welcoming.
• Our room was spacious, with a large, clean bathroom that felt luxurious.
🍽️ The Not-So-Good:
• For a resort of this caliber, the food was disappointing. It was expensive and lacked flavor, and the kids’ menu offered little variety—essentially the same option at every venue.
• The shower was a letdown. Despite maintenance efforts, the water remained cold, which was frustrating after a long day.
• The air conditioning was another issue. It wouldn’t cool below 68°F, and even after maintenance adjusted it to 65°F, the room became warm overnight.
• Given the size of the resort, we expected more kid-friendly activities. There’s definitely room to expand offerings for families traveling with children.
Overall: We enjoyed our stay, but left feeling that the experience didn’t quite match the price tag.
