Old and worn out flooring and wall paper. Dirty corners

It’s the market. August in Portland, every hotel is expensive. The problem is that the Clarion was pretty doggy materials and decor wise for a price that would get you a nicer room in a bigger city. We were given an accesible room- there was a grungy chair for ADA bathing in the shower stall with moldy tiles. Thankfully, a 1 night stay only on our way to our Maine vacation.

Friendly staff, hotel registration area clean and smelled great. I am sure the rest of the hotel was just as clean. The reason for my poor review is as follows. Pictures on the site are deceiving. It shows a bar to have cocktails. We wanted food and beverages on site so we did not have to drive, breakfast items were the only food available besides vending machines. It was a big disappointment considering I spent a great deal of time locating the perfect hotel. After the clerk advised me of no bar or restaurant were no longer offered at the hotel she offered me a refund. Sadly I booked through a third person Expedia and was not able to cancel my reservation in any way. I booked and stayed somewhere else that had bar and restaurant on site.

Convenient location to the venue we we attending.

The room was not ready when i arrived at 4:20pm. I was informed they were down one house keeper. The front desk said they would call when the room was ready. I called at 530pm, and it was atill not ready. I called again at 630pm and was told the room was ready but no one called me to tell me. I was waiting outside for 2 hours. Very disappointing and frustrating.

Great location and convenience for concert at Thompson’s Point. Easy walk!

Needs updating and thorough cleaning

Room was not ready at stated check in time it was 45 later and Che k I. Person was unprofessional took shuttle to a ferry and was told when done to call for pickup and tried to call for over an hr with no answer so had to uber back costing money we had not anticipated

Bathroom was tiny and not cleaned very well.

The bed was comfortable and clean (no bugs!), the room, bathroom, hallways were dingy and somewhat smelly but the guest services manager and staff were friendly and helpful! Absolutely worth what we paid and no more

Front desk, friendly, and very helpful helping me make dinner plans in terms of recommendations. The rooms were clean nobody came in between the two days I was there. I’m not sure I was supposed to request it or not. It is easily accessible to downtown if you have a car.

The property was very nice

The hotel is not in great shape. The staff was pleasant and attentive. However, our room smelled like someone had gone to the gym and they didn’t change the sheets. The bathtub still had hair from the previous occupant and the bathroom smelled like they’ve never cleaned the hair out of the drain.

Super clean, great location close to everything. Staff at desk very helpful and friendly. Would recommend!

Room was clean and bed was comfy; the bathroom sink gargled periodically, waking me in the night. Grab-n-go breakfast was listed on expedia but that isn't offered every day. Friendly and helpful staff

There was a ceiling that was ripped open and concerning. There was a weird smeared brown stain on the wall inside our room and on the bed sheets. Random hairs in the shower. Very unpleasant.

Breakfast food served out of a closet was a little odd, but it did taste good.

The lobby is welcoming. I mean spacious, clean and bright!
