Staff was very helpful and I enjoyed my stay. I’d recommend this property.

Sauna does not work properly. Everything else is pretty good.

Air conditioning in the Room didnt work. Room was quite stuffy and warm at night. Sleeping was really uncomfortable Called front desk for someone to come look at it. A Young Girl showed up. Gave us a Fan. It didnt solve the problem. If I stay there again I will be making sure the AC is working before I accept the room.

The Restaurant had amazing Chowder. The staff was great. Just an old hotel but gives you the 90"s Halifax feel. Will stay here again

The AC was non existent in our room. No extra blankets for the pull out couch. The pool was on the colder side and the female sauna did not work (but the male one did). Overall not 100% satisfied. Hotel needs updated

Filthy room, screaming and banging in the halls at 3 am , would not accommodate 30 minute late check out , pay the extra $40 and stay at one of the other clean hotels close by.

ac wasn’t & couldn’t be turned on. rooms were extremely moist, got 4 of us sick. pool area in pictures say there is a hot tub, there is none. Pool is freezing. need to pay a crazy amount for breakfast & for parking. won’t go again.

Our room was not properly cleaned, there was no air exchange in the room, making it very damp/dry/stuffy could not get the AC working so we had to get dans to the room as it was hot.

Front staff were friendly. Location was great! Toilet was slow to flush. We were on first floor.

We had a 4 night stay and felt very comfortable in the room! Comfy beds and very clean! We brought our cat and he loved it too! Highly recommend this place. Walking distance to all the wonderful places. 10 ⭐️ stars

This is one of those hotels that you get what you pay for! Inexpensive compared to others, therefore dated bathroom, no walk in shower, no housekeeping for stays less than five days ( though fresh towels available at front desk) old set of drawers etc. Parking is at another hotel with a proximately 10 minute walk back. On a positive note the room was clean and the front desk staff were friendly and efficient. There is a nice restaurant/bar in hotel lobby and the hotel itself is in a great location.

A comfortable stay.

We arrived after an early morning flight and we were very pleased when they allowed us to check in four hours early. I’ve stayed at the Barrington every time I’ve travelled to Halifax but was very disappointed with the condition of our room this time. It was clean and the beds are comfortable but it’s very outdated. The hot water smells very earthy, like bog, didn’t even like to shower in it. We resorted to using cold water as much as we could. The heat in our room also didn’t work, just blew cold air. Maintenance did come and look at it on our first night but it still didn’t work. We were out of the room most of the day and didn’t want to deal with changing rooms later in the evening so we tolerated it. We ended up going to bed early every night because it was just too cold to stay up. We also saw a mice in the hallway and in the tempo restaurant. Unfortunately I probably won’t choose this hotel again, which is disappointing because it is so conveniently located downtown.. The staff in the hotel and restaurant are excellent!
