My husband and I are from Canada and we were in Birch Run RV camping for the Dog Bowl Competition and we decided to stay an extra day so we went around to the hotels in the area looking for one with a pool to enjoy. After we went to several and talking with the gentleman at Country Inn he said the pool was working but not the hot tub we said okay plus he had rooms for the Monday we were looking for so we went and booked online then when it came to the day for check-in we then found out the pool was closed too not happy at all knowing we booked because we could still use the pool. The young guy was pleasant and apologized as he said they didn't know it would be out of service and offered to confirm with hotels.com if we wanted to cancel for a refund. At this point it was dinner time and didn't want to go through the hassle of looking again for a room especially since I truely believed I would not get our money back. But the guy was awesome never said anything to us we got to our room to find he upgraded us to a king pleasant surprise although didn't really make up for not being able to use the pool but much appreciated the effort,since I was very upset spending that kind of money for a room and no pool to use..

It was a very nice hotel. I will stay there again. The rate was extremely reasonable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. If you’re on a budget and looking for a place to crash, I would highly recommend

I liked breakfast, the lady who was around cleaning tables and serving more food was very kind. I didn’t like that housekeeping never went to ask if I needed service in the room no one time during my stay. Also, the main reason I chose that specific room and paid a little more extra was becuase the Jacuzzi and when I got there the Jacuzzi was damaged.

Was surprised on what we got for the price we paid. Overpriced!!

The hot tub was down for repairs (until how long - no one knows) and the pool looks dirty. The rooms are very dated and the bathroom is in need of a good cleaning.

Employees were very helpful and friendly.

The hotel needs a total renovation. Dirty carpeting, one of our beds were broken. The pool didn't look clean and the jacuzzi was out of order.

We unexpectedly needed a hotel for the night and this was a place to sleep.

Hotel has really diminished since my 2024 stay. The room looked like it hadn't been cleaned at all. Didn't dare pull the blankets back to sleep on the sheets the room was so dirty. Really a shame because we can here this same time of year in 2024 and it was nice at that time, that's why we can came back. Won't come again.

The hotel was clean but its dated. Its a high volume hotel and there is a lot of wear and tear. Everyone was super polite, the breakfast was great. Just needs updates like new carpet.

The young man at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful. It was kinnd of loud after the lights went off, but it quieted down around midnight.

This hotel was a physical representation of expectations versus reality. The outside is beautiful and the online photos looked great. The actual inside of the hotel room was more along the lines of what I would expext from a roadside budget motel. The bathroom door did not even shut unless you put your full body weight on it and locked it. The drain in the shower did not work so you had to stand in water up to your calves. It eventually drained overnight. The furniture all looked like it was something someone put to the road to be picked up for trash day. The pool room had mold throughout and was just gross. Their hottub was down, but I think that was probably a blessing, because ew. If you are even a little claustrophobic don't use the elevator. It was bot a smooth ride to say the least. Normally this chain of hotels is not bad, but this experience is definitely going to make me think twice before staying in one of their hotels. If you are planning a trip to Birch Run or the surrounding area, I would look to stay somewhere else. For the price, I expected way better.

Not clean and quite worn out. Dirt on walls and floor. Stains on shower curtain and windows.

We liked the Suite. The breakfast had a variety of items. A good price for our visit.

We checked in at 3:30pm to get my daughter dressed for prom. Notice there was a dirty floor by the door and dust in the bathroom by the towels. Should’ve taken photos- I specifically got a room at this hotel for the hot tub use- which was not in working order. So very disappointed - we were not informed prior to our stay. Many people complaining at breakfast about being congested- I informed them it was the feather pillows, which is an allergen.

Country Inn has really changed over the last 20 years and not in a good way. It is right across the street from the Birch Run outlets but I will not stay here again. Frankenmouth is worth driving to for a better stay. The staff here is wonderful and they did their best to help in every possible way. But shame on this hotel owner for allowing the rooms to look so terrible. Ripped curtains and a taped up (Yes, taped) hot tub is not what you are advertising in the bookings. Also had a couple insects in our room which was not a nice suprise. Very run down and a bit dirty. And the hot tub inside the pool area was also out of order. The hotel does not look anything like the online photos anymore. It was quiet but I do not recommend anyone staying here.

This hotel is dirty. Unfortunately, the first room they put us in had not been cleaned at all. After that they put us in another room that had been partially cleaned. The beds were made but there was hair everywhere and a used wet bath mat. They finally moved us to a 3rd room and the second bed was literally broken and unusable. When you sat on it, the bed tipped. Furniture broken. Lights not working. The whole property had not been vacuumed in some time. I don’t usually leave bad reviews and honestly find myself pretty easy to please but nobody wants to sleep in a dirty room. The staff was nice enough to move us several times but that should not have had to happen. Breakfast was nice. The hot tub is not working and looks like it’s growing algae. Just overall really gross hotel. Please save yourself a headache and just stay someplace else!
