Ideally situated, we upgraded to a junior suite, it was smashing. Plenty of amenities in the room. Within walking distance of bars, shops and restaurants. Lovely friendly staff.

We had the best suite in the hotel, as far as room size and beautiful views. The location in the town cannot be beat. I was never able to do any washing as they only had one machine in working order.

Just really an upmarket motel tending to a preference for short stay,no safes 5 coat hangers for two people for 3 Days extras refused.

Good except. No biscuits. Shower head average. Comfort was really good.

Nice accomodation, free parking and walkable to beach and restaurants. Staff was very friendly. Only downside was the internet, besides sending text messages hardly to use.

It's a few minutes walking distance from the Paihia Wharf where you can take a ferry to Russell, and to book tours/excursions in the Bay of Islands from various tour operators there.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this facility. The rooms were very comfortable, parking our van was a breeze, and the location was conveniently close to all the attractions. The staff, on the whole, were extremely helpful and respectful, making our experience pleasant. However, we did encounter one front desk employee who was not as friendly and welcoming as the others. This stood out in contrast to the otherwise excellent service we received.

I requested ground level room and was changed last minute to cater ti group booking, at time of check in was told it was ground then when I went to check it was upper level to which the receptionist said her manager had changed my room for the group booking, There’s only stairs to upper level which made carrying my suitcase up the two flights difficult, hence reason I requested ground level as my last stay with my kids I was on upper level. When I travel from Perth I land in Auckland and will always drive straight to the north And have chosen Kingsgate as my halfway point to stay, plus I love the location and other than the stairs and last minute changes, enjoy my stay there.

Very well positioned hotel being by the sea front and close to Paihia ferries and restaurants. Breakfast was below average & better options available within walking distance. Avoid, if possible, a ground floor room as cars are parked 1metre from your bedroom window.

I liked this property for its convenience and the suite rooms..very very comfortable.
