The hotel is OK. Our room was on the groundfloor and seemed a bit tired. It wasn’t a large bed and we were kept awake from 4 -5am by the television in an adjoining room. Parking at the hotel is easy (reduced payment for guests) and it’s convenient for the M5 and Exeter airport.

Always stay at this holiday express when we travel to Exeter staff always friendly and chatty, rooms clean and always sleep well here and breakfast always hot

Very basic small room. It was very hot and the a/c did not appear to be working. Also you could hear voices from adjoining room. £7 to park overnight. Outrageous car parking should be free.

Check in was easy. Our bedroom and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The evening meal in the restaurant was poor. There was no ice for our drinks from the bar beforehand. My husband’s meal of fish goujons and chips was undercooked. At breakfast the mixed fruit berries hadn’t fully defrosted, the sausages had been undercooked and the fruit juices were awful. Stay, but don’t eat here!

We Like the stay. Only 25 Min by Bus to Exeter City.

The room was very clean, the bed wss very large and comfortable. The food was very good and the staff were excellent.

Lovely hotel, conveniently located just off the M5, yet very accessible to reach the city centre by bus. Ample parking, which was also reasonably priced. The staff were super helpful giving us directions to get to the bus stop (just across the road) and which numbers we needed to look out for to reach the city centre. Breakfast was lovely, with a huge variety of food. The lift was a bit slow so we ended up using the stairs instead as we were on the first floor. Modern and super clean look. We will definitely stay there again as it was excellent value for money.

Room was very good, clean but in slight need of some decorating, good storage but only there one night. Friendly staff. Left at 3.00 am to catch a flight & was let down by the promise of an early breakfast of croissants & muffins, upon entering the breakfast area there was nothing available. Was told by receptionist that he knew nothing of this arrangement but we could get a coffee or tea.

Clean room , breakfast was nice. Having a bar there was good to unwind after the long drive we had.

Good place to stay. Staff are great and soooo helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Always pleasant even when they are obviously very busy. Matthew in particular was always cheerful he seemed to be there 24/7 and always multitasking. The staff make this otherwise average hotel a place to come back to. 10 out of ten for their services!! We stay here a lot, it's great value and convenient for getting around and visiting Devon . Well done everyone at Holiday Inn Express M5.

Staff was great. The hotel is old and really ran down. I was very disappointed in this Holiday Inn because I felt tricked. The Holiday Inn near Stonehenge was incredible and the same price as this nasty dump. I would definitely not stay here again. ALSO you had to pay for parking at this location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, although it was short we were pleasantly surprised with our room, breakfast menu and staff. We checked in late and the evening receptionist was really helpful with giving us advice around parking and checked up in promptly. We were able to order a drink before heading to the room. Our room was clean and spacious. We headed down to breakfast in the morning where we had the buffet. The buffet was fresh, with a large variety, all equipment used to store the buffet was new and well maintained. This Holiday Inn is definitely worth while to stop at, it is clear the staff and management care about the customer experience. Thanks for our stay!
