I had high hopes for this place due to the overall ratings, but was extremely disappointed. We got a suite, and the room was very dirty. There was hair on the sheets, in the tub, and all over the floor in the bathroom. There were cobwebs in the corner and stains on the shower liner. We told the person at the front desk who asked if we would be fine for the night and they would have housekeeping clean in the morning. We put the doortag on the door, and the only thing house cleaning did was make the bed and take out the trash. Due to my allergies, we had to leave early and was told that the person would ask her manager about a refund and give us a call. I have called back twice and have not heard back from the manager. We will not be going back to this hotel again.

It was in a nice location and was perfect for our family.

Outside is clean and quiet. However the floors, especially in the room was sticky and dirty. After walking around the room in my bare feet. I took a shower and black stuff from the bottom of my feet just washed off as soon as the water hit my feet. It was gross. After the shower I walked across the floor to the bed, and after just those few steps my feet where black again. The Air conditioning unit in our room was broke and it was hot. At first we were told there was nothing they could. Later after we complained the person at the front desk said they would get in trouble but they would switch us to another room where the air worked. We thanked them for their kindness. However this could have been a problem.

There was a slight mix up with a few different things but the lady assisting me at the front desk was, by far, the absolute best example of excellent customer service.

Staff was friendly, room was clean and quiet, bed was ok. Pool was ok.

We arrived 25 minutes before check in and asked if there was a room available, because we had a private call we needed to take ant 3pm and it was hot out in the car. There were a couple rooms available, but they were going to charge us $20. We begrudgingly agreed. By the time we got checked in, it was 2:45. We paid $20 for 15 minutes. I have driven across the country several times and never had that happen. We didn’t ask they make up a room that wasn’t ready, we didn’t call ahead and request it. We just asked for our already available room a bit early. I am not staying at any Best Western again.

I booked this hotel for my husband during his road trip, and unfortunately, he became very sick after eating the breakfast, especially the gravy. He had vomiting and nausea for several hours while driving that day. I reached out to the hotel. They were polite and offered a 15% discount for a future stay, but we won’t be coming back. I feel it’s important to share this experience so others can be cautious, especially with the breakfast.

Check-in was slower than most other places.

Great place to stay, great food and shopping around, easy access to highways and interstate.

Good breakfast.

The room was pet friendly, but smelled like a kennel when I arrived. The toilet wasn’t secured to the floor and rocked when it was used. The sink faucet leaked onto the counter. The fridge wasn’t cold and had no way to adjust the temperature.

Could be better

I liked the ease of getting to the hotel and the cleanliness The breakfast was cold most mornings and needed to be microwaved to be hot. When I went to check-in I was told they tried to call me as my card was declined. I corrected the problem and they ran my card with no problem. The problem I have is no one called and when I made the reservation I told them i would pay in person. When I got home I found a bill in my inbox. I have found Best Western to be a reliable hotel chain but after this I don't know if I can stay there. I also am not happy about the $100.00 surcharge.

Staff was nice & close to shopping options

The front desk clerk was wonderful. Very personable. We never did get housekeeping to come and replenish towels. We had to grab them ourselves.

Check in was slow and not very informative. The room was set to 80 when we got in and it was extremely warm. Parking was horrible. It is a small parking lot and and we had to park over top of the curb and landscape just to have a spot and get things from our vehicle. The back door was was not latching so anything and anyone could come in. Breakfast in the morning was very crammed for space. The food selection was very minimal. Not much out there with a line of people waiting. There was no one at the front desk the entire time we were down for breakfast to talk to about our stay. The key card return box was set on top and that was it.

I love that the hotel was very clean and quiet

We didn't like it to where when we went to get the room after booking it on line, there Wasn't any information telling you that there was a required amount of 100.00 dollars deposit on top of what you were already paying. Also they didn't want to give you a receipt when you were leaving showing that you had given a deposit. The breakfast was not too good. My husband had a hard time getting the waffle off the grill for the grill needed to be cleaned so his waffle was burnt. Biscuits and gravy were okay. The best Western plus in independence Missouri was outstanding. We recommend it.
