Great location

Hotel is situated on a stunning piece of property. The views from the restaurant / bar and patio area were absolutely gorgeous, with the lake and mountains in the background as well as the properties own little ruin. We spent hours enjoying the views. The location is great, being right on the edge of Killarney National Park. The hotel actually is close enough to hike directly into Killarney National Park. Can walk to Muckross Abbey in about 30 minutes. From there you can walk / hike to Muckross House and Torc Waterfall. Was fairly easy for us to drive the Ring of Kerry and also Slea Head Drive. Were able to take in the views at every meal and the staff always made every effort to seat you right by a window, if possible. The food overall was good to very good, with a fairly expansive breakfast buffet. The room was very nice - clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff was so friendly and helpful. When one of our 3rd party bookings for a boat trip fell through they were able to book us on the Gap of Dunloe tour at the last minute. The tour was great and saved our day. Wish we could have squeezed time to try out the thermal spa. Looked so nice and so relaxing. Parking right at the hotel was nice to have. Couldn't recommend the hotel highly enough.

My husband and I just returned home after a wondering week long trip to Ireland. I want to share a 5 star review of The Lake Hotel in Killarney! Wow did they impress us! It was absolutely worth splurging slightly for a room. The view from our room was spectacular, the restaurant served the best food and cocktails we had the whole trip, and the staff/service was unmatched. We felt like royalty! When we shared that it was our honeymoon, the surprised us with chocolates and a print waiting on our bed! If you’re staying in Killarney, i would highly recommend the Lake Hotel!

Hotel was beautiful. The leisure suite was absolutely fabulous. The rooms were lovely we did find a small bit of mold on the curtains but other than that they were lovely.

My stay was wonderful. The staff was awesome and the property was immaculate.

This hotel has one of the best mountain views in all of Killarney. It's located off the town center about 1.5 miles, so it's not a super easy walk to town, but doable if the weather is ok. The interior is full of antique furnishings and memoribilia from the hotel over the years. The bar is welcoming and bright and the Bistro restaruant has good food and service andd great views of the mountains. We did not eat at the main dining room. The lodging areas are a bit tired and dated, but I find this pretty typical in Ireland. I did not find this to be a huge negitive, however. It's just part of the charm. Most of the rooms (but not all) have Lake Views. You'll want one for sure. Killarney is a lovely part of Ireland and a good jumping off spot to so many tourist spots. It's my favorite place to stay. I'd recommend if you are in Killarney to try to stay at The Lake Hotel at least a few nights. The view is worth it.

The staff at this hotel were amazing. They did everything you asked plus were there to help with extras like helping you get somewhere or helping you get to a place you never heard of lots of advice for somebody who had never been to this place.

The hotel itself is lovely but the grounds and the adjoining national park are magnificent

We loved our stay here. The breakfast buffet was excellent, the rooms were cozy, the view was amazing, and the staff were friendly. Our only complaints were that the sink either had super hot water or super cold water so no adjusting the temperature and that the rooms lacked AC so we had to throw a fan they provided in the window at night to make the room a decent temperature. Otherwise, we will be back!

The hotel setting was in a beautiful spot with views over the lake. Red deer and water birds to be seen all around the lake. The actual room was very well decorated and both the amenities and food offered in the hotel exceptional. Would not hesitate to recommend the Lake Hotel.

The best hotel in Kerry hands down. The comfiest bed, most delicious breakfast, loaded with history, and the view… stunning.

A very beautiful location. A wonderful place to stay very comfortable. They had a very nice bar in band playing. Very attentive staff just spectacular grounds. the breakfast was exquisite.

Best breakfast buffet ever! Spectacular lake and mountain views. Great restaurant. We had a wonderful 2 night stay as part of our honeymoon! Would recommend stopping by.

Picture an old english hunting lodge with fine dining sitting on a picturesque lake with misty mountains in the background...and that pretty much says it all.

My husband and I really enjoyed our srsy here, from the breakfast, to dinner and then to the bar for great music, this hotel has it all. Great views as well and Ring of Kerry close by.

Loved this stop, it was our favorite hotel of a 2 week trip. Great food, staff, & scenery. Do yourself a favor, skip staying right downtown and stay here for the R&R. Very easy transport or bike ride to downtown Killarney

Amazing location on the side of the lake with views of the remains of Castlelough Castle. Easy access to the sights in Killarney and the national park, as well as to the Ring of Kerry. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a little aged but that kind of adds to the charm. The room was clean and had the usual amenities. Would stay there again in future!

I cannot say enough, good things about the lake hotel! From the minute, you walk in the front desk… Catherine greeted us with a smile and was helpful every step of the way. Our room was spectacular… I would highly recommend the Lakeview room… Request the upper floor floors, we had 338. It was amazing! Daria gave us helpful tips on driving the ring of Kerry and also to dingle We had dinner both nights in the pub. The staff was pleasant and helpful… Alex, the bartender was particularly entertaining, and we enjoyed his company. The food in the pub was spectacular… I don’t know how it could’ve been any better in the restaurant. But I would highly recommend just popping into the pub and try some of the appetizers. We were able to walk the property… Until the rain started… And enjoyed watching dear wander in the mornings I would recommend spending at least two nights at this location just so you can absorb everything. The property has to offer. Truly a beautiful location the rooms were appointed with everything we needed… Great linens, a lovely shower and extra pillows! My husband mentioned to the concierge that it was my birthday, and Catherine had goodies delivered to our room while we were at dinner, such a beautiful touch! 10 stars !!!!
