2 things we had problem with: 1) was no grab rails on the jetted tub. It was really hard getting in and out because the bottom of the tub was crazy slick once it got wet 2) food vending machine failed to dispense the product. Was glad I received my money back. Next time I stay,I I will make sure I have all my snacks with me so I won't worry about trying to get any from your vending machines.

The welcome dinner was a very nice surprise. The complimentary breakfast and coffee were wonderful. We had a switch rooms because the TV was broken, which was an inconvenience. The beds were not comfortable for us. Staff was great.

Great place

This was the cleanest hotel I have stayed at in quite a while, from the lobby, hallways and my room!

Great place to stay after a busy and fun day. The view was a wooded area with train tracks. I don’t know if the tracks were in use but it was beautiful!

The first room they gave us had a sewer smell, the air conditioner didn't work, it was very dark with the lights on and the lamp plug ins didn't work. They gave us a different room and it was ok but, once you get that smell in your nose you can't get rid of it. The microwave in this room didn't work. We would never stay here again.

Nice property. Just a little old. Hallway floors are creaky. Room was nice. Whirlpool bath was good. Breakfast was mediocre but still nice to have. In a good location for dining options. Day desk staff was disengaged. Not unfriendly but terribly friendly either.

Quick check in. Clean room. No complaints.

The Heartland Inn was affordable & convenient to U of I athletic facilities. The Heartland had many solid reviews from repeat/loyal customers. However my feeling is it is mostly people of a certain age that need access to the U of I hospital which I am certain it is perfect for. Hotel needs an update. Good for an overnight but an extended stay would be disappointing. Breakfast buffet was good but not great. Pool was “acceptable” but small. Would be nice to add a fitness center. My largest issue was a young lady at the desk who on four separate occasions, was too occupied on her phone with her earbuds in to respond to my checking in, a request for a key that worked for our room, asking for a 4th pillow for our two beds, and at check out upon departure. On the 3rd & 4th occasion I decided to time the delay. 47 seconds & 52 seconds. Not a big deal but odd.

It was cheap.

Nice and clean Friendly staff

1. The bed was one of the most uncomfortably hard beds we've ever slept in. 2. At breakfast, there were issues with coffee service. The machine, which was supposed to give you the options of lattes, etc., dispensed only plain black coffee. There was no unflavored half & half available and when asked about it, front desk staff was condescending and inhospitable saying things like "we're not a restaurant." After returning to our room, the GM appeared at our door to apologize and had 3 small containers of half & half in his hands that he had "found around in our meeting rooms." It was too little too late. 3. When we returned to our room after breakfast, our keys did not work. I went to the front desk and after asking only for my room number (no name, no request for ID or any other security measure) I was given new keys. I could have asked for a key to any room in that hotel. The lack of security procedures places all guests and their belongings at great risk. When called on it, the desk person response was "yeah, I really should ask."

Staff courteous and very helpful

I nearly fell in the shower. The floor was slick and they only provided a 2x3' shower mat. There was also thumping throughout the night like someone running or stomping. It was happening at 3:00am and when we woke up at 5:30am. Sleep was not restful.

Air conditioner was noisy and only worked on 1 setting.

Very pleasant staff. Facilities are dated but priced appropriately.

Fresh towels were damp, remote didn’t work, air was stale, in room fridge and ac unit were very loud.

The air conditioner has not been functioning properly, and the room had a smell of mold. of mold.
